No. If i was a thunder fan id be livid if they did that. Dude left to a conference rival right after being up 3-1 against them. Okc gotta have some sef respect. Durant burned the bridge.
Why would they? No loyalty right? Look, about 4 years ago I used to date this super hot Ukrainian chick. She was a ride or die kinda piece. I was smitten... Then one day I wake up and she’s wanting to get married and have kids... not my thing. Pretty much say that and she DOES NOT TAKE IT WELL... Within a week she’s banging the maid... Moral of the story... why be loyal... Why? Basic b****es like KD aren’t
They probably will but I don’t see any reason why. To me retired numbers are for players who are: all-time greats, played with the franchise for most of their career and had an impact beyond basketball. A guy like Drexler is one of the few exceptions, since he was part of Phi Slamma Jamma. If he didn’t have that Houston connection, his number should not have been retired by the Rockets in my book.
Yes, but they should retire Steven Adam's jersey, or burn it, either way. The man is my least favorite player, with the exception Draymond Peen KD is a legit Thunder player. With GS, I believe we call his situation a "snake", "Opportunistic" and "Insecure" on a stacked team. Where is the drive to compete?
They better retire Westbrook because that dude gives them all, probably one of the only MVPs *arguable in their franchise history. Durant also.
As much as i hate Durant for his decision to go to Golden State, u can't deny that the organization failed him. If they had traded the team cancer westbrook instead of Harden (which they fortunately didn't) and realized that westbrook will never be a part in a championship team, im pretty sure he'd still be there. I welcomed his decision to leave because i understand the problem he had with westbrook, however i dont appreciate the team he chose to go to. Anyway, he is the best player in their short history, won a MVP there and also donated $1m to the city. He deserves it
At that time the Rockets would be Okay-ish with a Ibaka trade as well. They were hungry for any talent after Yao. Thunder would have had WB, Harden and Duran to build for the next years.
I don't think Harden would've become harden with westbrook on the team. The correct move for the future would've been to trade westbrook for a all-star type off ball player and develope harden as your point guard. Im pretty sure they would've won atleast 2 championships by now.
Does not matter, anyone would have kept the best talent on the team. And build around that core. Ibaka was a very good player but no Allstar.
If Westbrook stays there his entire career, there's no chance in hell Durant's jersey is going to hang beside his in the rafters.
From what i've heard, they did a survey for GMs where the question was: keep harden, trade westbrook or vice versa. Most GMs voted for keeping harden and trading WB. And i agree with that.
