    This is a double edge sword for "American exceptionalism". The idea that the topic was never thought of before...paired the hubris to call it "open discussion".

    If the Earth is flat we should be able to easily make a tunnel system to run from the US to Asia, Africa, Europe, or Australia.

    I feel like he was serious about the flat earth thing but he received so much backlash from everyone that he lied & said he was trolling.

    Now that everyone kind of accepted that he was trolling, he’s trying to bring back the situation & make it look like there was a deeper objective, so he doesn’t sound as stupid about the whole thing. Which ironically makes him sound dumber because why would you keep commenting about a situation that made him look stupid in the first place.
