Everyone likes to talk about title droughts and curses in baseball except I rarely see it mentioned that besides Cleveland Houston now has the longest drought. This organization has been around since 1962 and for 55 years not only hasn’t won a World Series title hasn’t even won a World Series game (yet). That sounds like a baseball curse to me.
Forget curses and listen to the soothing voice of Steve Sparks' awesomeness as he prepares to interview players entering the clubhouse for the celebration after game 7. Its hilariously awesome and epic. https://sports790.iheart.com/content/2017-10-22-steve-sparks-alcs-clubhouse-audio/
I’m not saying the Stros are doomed because of a curse but I get tired about so much is made about how many people root for teams because it seems like they’ve been cursed and how great it is for them to finally get that curse. The Cubs built a national following off of that. Heck even with this series people are saying how long of a drought the Dodgers have had since their last title.
The historical Senators are the Minnesota Twins which have won two titles. You’re right the current organization started in in 1961 but moved to DFW in 1972 but most baseball curses seem to be tied to the city and their fans. Also the Rangers have won World Series games.
This is the opening for a story done on SBnation and it perfectly surmises what the casual fan knows about our "curse". @davidio840 posted it here.
People bandwagon winners far more than cheer for droughted teams. Cubs would have beaucoup fans regardless of a curse. Harvey is special situation this year regarding sympathy.
