Unbelievable odds for the beard. James is at 10-1.... Just like last year they are under rating the bearded one. Houston is a shoe in for the 2nd seed. James will average about same in points, same in rebounds and a few less in assists. Last year they rewarded solely on stats. They won't fall for that crap again this year. I expect more focus on winning, and with Houston in the 2 seed that's a great sign for James. Cp3 will ride his ass on d. James won't lose focus as often, and imo James has the potential to be a top 20 defender when focused. Look at his d highlights, he has all the tools to be one of the best. Having a little general on the floor who ain't afraid of yelling at James will be great. Hit those books now before people realize the value in James, or before he goes off on a triple dub tear.
Lebron always takes breaks though. He still has 2 other all-stars. If it's just Harden and Paul and we manage to beat the warriors a few times in the regular season Harden could get it because the media will finally...nah who am I kidding.
yeah that's the problem about the maintenance part. but being that he is the best player in the league and has been and everyone else is now paired with another star of some type of caliber. worth a sprinkle. may just do him and harden
Harden doesn't have a chance to win from the get-go given the media criteria shifts, so 10-1 is actually pretty favorable to him if you ask me.
Harden will never win this award, accept it and move on. I don't even care about this anymore. Last year was probably his best chance, and he finished in 2nd again. The media will never give James Harden an MVP.
It seems that two of the last three seasons, the media decided in the couple opening weeks what narrative they wanted for the MVP and adjusted the voting standards at the end of the year to fit the winner they wanted all along (this was especially egregious last year when they awarded a guy on a lower-seeded playoff team for the first time in nearly 40 years). My prediction for this season: the media will start making a big deal about how it's Kawhi Leonard's turn to win the MVP early in the season, and he will win. The standard at the end of the season will be that the MVP needs to go to a guy on a winning team who is a strong two-way player, even if other players have more impressive stats.
