This article was put in the Howard thread in the Dish, but it has such a great Bev quote, thought I'd post that here. props to @JayGoogle for first mentioning the quote. Dwight Howard, Rockets happy with success they've found apart from each other Context of quote: The article was written right after the Thursday ATL game and reads to me like a image-control piece Howard sought out to talk about rebirth and how he and Harden are doing well alone and no hard feelings,,,,yada, yada, yada. Apparently, he even went to our lockerroom before the game ... that's where the Beverley quote comes in: ------------------------------------------------------- Howard spent a few minutes pregame visiting the Rockets’ locker room, seeing both players and team and arena personnel he hadn’t seen since he left. After a few minutes, though, Rockets guard Patrick Beverley came out of the locker room. “Get Dwight Howard out of our locker room,” he said forcefully, according to several witnesses. “I’m serious.” Perhaps that explained this little exchange in the fourth quarter. Telling Dwight he's all talk. haha Sorry if this brought up forgetful memories of the loss. Sure would have been sweeter had we closed out that damn game.
I hate that I cant make fun of the Hawks blown 20 pt Super Bowl lead cause our dumbasses blew a 20 pt lead
Love Bev. But I wonder if that was the smartest thing, Dwight had a monster game, and his problem has always been motivation... DD
I like Bev but not for this reason. This was downright Stoooopid. And the resulting L makes it even more.
Bev is definitely the kind of player that you love if he is on your team, but would completely annoy you and you would hate if he was on a different team. I hope we are able to keep him here on a good contract for his whole career.
Or just down the plays and let 24 seconds run off the clock each offensive possession, that would have worked too. I love Bev. But Dwight was cordial and still got the last laugh.
Figures Dwight was rooting for the Patriots, according to the article. If Dwight needed to be kicked out of our locker room for motivation, which he entered for self-serving reasons, then he's a mental midget. I just figured he was going to bring playoff Howard for his return regardless. The fact he can turn on his rebounding abilities at will, but doesn't, was infuriating to me. I even told my sports betting brother (non Rockets fan who asked me about the game) to consider a 20/20 game bet. If you are talking about the video, then yeah maybe he shouldn't have done that "All talk" gesture. Dwight got 6 boards and 4 pts after that video, albeit he was already doing that all game. I call walking into someone's lockerroom pregame to be all chummy, forced-cordiality, at best. You can do that stuff pre-game shootaround, like everyone else. Seems forced for media affect. He probably even had that reporter following him around. "Tell someone to get Dwight Howard out of our lockerroom. I'm serious." That's such a Mad Max thing to say. Barkley too. Can you imagine #33 walking into our lockerroom. lulz Also willing to bet Dwight was too afraid of Kobe to even entertain the idea in his return game to LA. lulz
