Im not going to say I have a steady source but I do know someone in the sports media world that I talk to from time to time. He told me that Lane Kiffin should be announced as the head coach of the Coogs by the end of today. Take it for what it is worth and I am by no means an insider. Just thought I would pass along what I had heard. Go Coogs!
I hope Saban rubbed off on him, dude was a failure his last three head coaching gigs. We better start grooming someone (CASE) with an attachment to the school to take over for Kiffin after he bolts to the next big program.
The school president has not given her blessing on any hire. There will be a meeting today with her, Tillman and the AD where she will give the final thumbs up on what candidate to hire.
I'm happy. This is the right guy for the job. He has the wisdom and experience that Tom Herman brought. We both need each other right now. If he bolts I'm ok with it, but if he wants a championship he sticks around because we can do that for him here too. Perfect fit.
Kiffers wants the hire to be made official ASAP so he can hit the recruiting trail one last time before dead period.
