Reggie Miller was bad yesterday. So bad a Rockets legend called him out. It took him 7 replays before he noticed Green's foot connected with Harden's face. It got me thinking, what's your perfect NBA/Rockets broadcast? For me it's: Commentator: Kevin Harlan Color Commentator 1: JVG Color Commentator 2: Walt Frazier Network: TNT (the games look much better than ESPN and ABC) Pre and Post game show: Inside the NBA
Reggie Miller also suggested the Warriors take a foul when there was a 4 second difference between the shot clock and the game clock, which would guarantee the Rockets the last shot, smh.
Harlan is my favorite play by play, JVG is my fav commentator Sager is the best sideline guy. TNT best overall presentation. Inside the NBA is great, obviously they say some stupid **** but its entertainment. Kevin Harlan and Doug Collin were the best team back in the day.
Don't like most of the big network guys, they try to impress you with their 'knowledge' and think they know everything. I just want to enjoy the game, not have loads of obscure stats thrown at me. They also try too hard to be funny. I like our guys (Worrell, Clyde, Bull). They keep it light and entertaining, and have good chemistry. And best of all they always throw in a Hakeem reference, lol.
I loved Bill Walton man. He said a lot of ridiculous things but the dude definitely had color commentary down pat with his "poetic" commentaries.
The NETs YES crew hands down. They are so fun they are impartial they actually make great jokes, it's really enjoyable to listen to them. They also have funny trivia games. No. 1 broadcast crew in the league. As for JVG he often times he says some things that prove that he doesn't watch some teams other than the contenders.
marv albert in his prime is probably my favorite play by play guy. he still has a feel for the game and every game just feels bigger when he's announcing it (like al michaels or keith jackson). unfortunately now he's getting old and misses a lot of things and doesn't know what's happening on fouls and violations a lot of the time. therefore, i'd take mike breen as the play by play guy. jvg easily the color commentator. 3 man booth i really like chris webber and brent barry a lot, but, even though mark jackson can be annoying, i think he works really well with jvg. i've grown to like all of his sayings. so basically, the espn/abc A team is my favorite crew. harlan is great at announcing, but i don't get the impression he knows quite as much about the league or has the innate sense of the game like breen does. but i also think harlan could announce cup stacking and make it entertaining and exciting.
i think this was on the play with 4.8 seconds left in OT and us having 1.5 seconds to inbound it. it was hilarious. so not only would they for some reason foul on a play where we have 1.5 seconds to score, but, as pointed out, they would give us the last shot of the game. this is why it's often hard to take former players seriously in analysis of their own games or about managing teams and such (in any sport).
Give me Costas & JVG with Hannah Storm working the sidelines and ROUND BALL ROCK intro music by John Tesh. Then you have my permission to die.
