This guy is going to get hurt within the next 2 weeks if they keep using him like they did in game 1. He probably needs a minutes cap similar to what Shaun Livingston has in Golden State.
I say wrap in cotton wool and save him for the playoffs and then as Maury said "No one will want to face us in the playoffs" Problem is less EG means more Corey Sewer or Tyler Anus. So pick your poision.
Well right even if he plays a lot the Rox just got beaten down by the crappy fakers so.... No point in saving him if we can't even reach the playoffs.
He needs to play at least 34 minutes a game IMHO. He is the only other real threat off the dribble that we have on the team besides Harden. You can't play not to get hurt when you are paying someone $13 million. That's just the risk you took when you decided to sign him. Play him the minutes necessary to earn that check, and just pray that he can stay healthy. Bev on the other hand, should be limited to 15-18 minutes once he comes back. He is paid like a backup, and plays like a backup.
I mean, in theory it would be great if he could play heavy minutes, but he's already likely to miss 20 or so games this season due to just being who he is.....heavy minutes might make that worse.
Keep him off the floor in blowouts whenever possible, otherwise 32-36 mpg should be the norm until Bev is back.
We're not the Spurs, whose depth is always sufficient for minutes scheming. If we start playing to protect our players instead of to win we'll win 35 games. By all means sit him down for the fourth quarter if you're up 14. But we don't have much quality at guard behind him, so I can't endorse going into a game with the intent of stopping him after 28 minutes.
Just leave him on the other side of the court and play 4-on-5 defense, no major difference, improves his chance to avoid injury by 50% and y'all and Les still get your beloved FUN basketball.
we should be accumulating picks for a rebuild. to this end, play him sparingly until we can trade him for a pick
Gordon's ceiling should be 30 minutes. His health can't be trusted. Play Brown more until Wolverine returns.
Somehow this thread is a reminder that cutting Prigioni was a bad idea given the state of the roster.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with 33 minutes a game for Gordon. His injuries have not been fatigue related. Last season he averaged 33 minutes a game and his injury was a broken finger, a fluke injury that could just as easily happen in the 1st minute of the game.
Maybe. But I didn't know how good Gordon was. If he was healthy, he could average 20+ as a 1st option
