An official announcement could come soon. The new collective bargaining agreement has not been ratified, causing the delay.
Looks like an official Swift signing will be pushed back to the 1st. No big deal but the press conference will be fun to watch, maybe they'll introduce 2 players then.
his agent made this announcement - the boozer deal was different. In that deal, Carlos was realsed from the 2nd year of his contract and they were going to re-sign him - but them Utah came in a offered him WAY more money. I think if someone was going to outbid us for Stro, they would have done it already
It'd give him a bad reputation, ala Boozer as well. If he and his agenet made their word, they'll stick to it.
U know, I know he says he wants to be here, but until he signs, I'll defer my excitement...For some reason, I have a bad feeling...I know he wants to win, but there are a lot of reasons $$$ to go elsewhere...
More info on this (posted today)... http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_2871765 Final contract may be delayed By Marc J. Spears Denver Post Staff Writer The NBA and the players union announced a six-year collective bargaining agreement last month but pushed back the date when free agents could start signing, from July 14 to July 22 as they worked out details. Spokesmen for both sides say they remain committed to finalizing a contract by Friday, but it's not certain. Talk around the league is that the contract might not be completed until Aug. 1 in order to give both sides more time, thus delaying when teams can sign free agents. An NBA and players union spokesman said they are still hoping to get the CBA done this week. "That goal hasn't changed," NBA spokesman Tim Frank said Tuesday. Said players union spokesman Dan Wasserman: "We're making progress toward completing the agreement. The goal by both sides is to complete everything by (Friday)."
