He used to be FA Target 1-B.

Now we hear nothing about him... from anyone, anywhere.

What going on with him in the rumor mill?

From ESPN Insider:

10. Antonio Daniels, PG, Sonics (PO)

DanielsThe skinny: It looks like Daniels has narrowed his choices down to the Lakers and Blazers. It would appear that the Lakers would be a no-brainer. Phil Jackson loves big guards and the Lakers, now that they've agreed to trade Chucky Atkins, could offer him a starting position. However, two things are holding him back. One, the Lakers want Daniels to sign a two-year deal. This has been the Lakers mantra all summer as they try to protect potential max cap space during the summer of 2007 so that they can make a run at Yao Ming in free agency. Daniels, who turned 30 in March, wants more job security, and feels he can get it from his other suitors. Two, new Blazers head coach Nate McMillan loved Daniels in Seattle and has been pushing to get him to come aboard as a tutor for Sebastian Telfair. The Jazz, Heat, Magic and Cavs have also shown interest in Daniels.

He'd be nice, but if we didn't get him it wouldn't exactly destroy our chances. We need to shore up the PF position first, make sure it's not a liability before we start adressing the PG position. I wouldn't mind upgrading Wesley before bringing Daniels in, either.

My goodness is there any tread left on the Yao to Lakers in 2007 talk. When is Yao gonna sign an extension to put this to bed. Can't he sign one in like september? i will be happy when all that talk is put to bed, its just you hear it so much that you start to wonder.

are you trying to go for the most posts per day record?

anyhow, I'd love to see Daniels in the lineup. Damon is a good option, but Daniels' height is an advantage IMO.

the NBA demanded Kyle Lowry and Patrick Paterson be added to Houston’s offer. Now, the Rockets had been told five of their top six players were needed to get Gasol in a trade.

F*** you David Stern

i don't think the rockets have shown a lot of interest in daniels and the rockets aren't even on daniels' radar according to pretty much every NBA insider on the planet. i think he'd be an upgrade at PG but i just don't think we are going to get him.
