OK, so I woke up Tuesday morning and my right foot was sore, like it had been in the wrong position while I was sleeping. It was sore pretty much all day, but it got better as the day went on. Yesterday morning, it hurt a little more when I woke up, and slowly got better as the day went on. This morning, the pain woke me up about 30 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. It's in tremendous pain, especially the right half of the foot. There's absolutely no swelling or anything.
Two questions.
1. Anyone else ever had something like this?
2. If I choose to go to a doctor, do I actually go to a foot doctor? I've been to the doctor a grand total of like 6 times over the last decade-plus, so I'm not sure what to do. My insurance company loves me.

Since the foot has soooooo many bones in it, it's probably going to be really difficult to get a good opinion from anyone here who isn't a podiatrist, so you might want to try a specialized forum. It definitely helped when I had a stress fracture in my arch.

The wrong position when you were sleeping? Do you sleep with your legs crossed indian-style or something?
Just google your problem. You'll find out almost as much as the doctor will tell you.

There's like a million bones in your foot. Google will only make you paranoid.
I would go see a Doctor.

Wouldn't a broken bone cause swelling?
****, I really don't want to go to the doctor.

If you need a good podiatrist, I highly recommend Dr. Barry Weinstein. He's located at the corner of Ella and 43rd in the Oak Forest area. He took care of an ingrown toenail I had a few years back. He was great.

It may not. If it continues, I suggest you go see a Doctor. Last Fall, I had a Lisfranc Fracture, which isn't a break but a torn tendon which allows the bones in your midfoot to get out of place. My foot didn't swell at all, but it got to the point that I couldn't walk on it and when I finally went to the doctor I had to get a cast for three months.

This thread will approach a Brown Recluse scare I had 10 years ago. One day my forearm was fine. The next I had a whelp this size of a drink coaster. People told me it could be a brown recluse. I looked on the internet and made an immediate appointment. It was a spider bite, but not that nasty bastard.
I was still glad I went. Peace of mind is a precious thing.

Crap. I just told my fiancee about this and that would prohibit me from probably dancing at our wedding and would make walking down the aisle a chore. Not to mention our honeymoon after that. She sounded so upset.

Go to the doctor man!
and this comes from someone who avoids doctors like they're IRS auditors.

It's probably not that bad, unless you dropped something really heavy on your foot recently. I just was pointing out that no swelling in the foot doesn't mean your foot is ok. Getting it looked at is key. I was stubborn and paid for it in the long run.

If you're not into doctors, you could always seek the services of a tribal shaman.

In america it's not called a foot, it's called a sock.
