That is one funky mix of Old school land cruiser and new school stuff...definently will be different and an eye catcher.
LOL! Yah, it's more like a Jeep Wrangler only bigger. They are just drooling over it because of the Toyota logo, if that car had a Chevy or a Ford emblem you would be hearing about "how unoriginal", or "how stupid", etc.
Oh I get it. It's supposed to be another throwback, retro-type car. All I can say is buyer beware. You saw what happened with the PT Cruiser, which are now being sold to rental car fleets.
What's the gas mileage? I thinkm y next car is going to be the updated version of my current one - Lexus IS 300 - once the hybrid comes out. They haven't announced any definitive hybrid plans for the model, but since the RX is now a hybrid, and they have announced an upcoming hybrid for the GS, I expect the IS hybrid will soon follow.
I'm all for hybrid vehicles and fuel conservation, but I read an article in a magazine a few months ago about how you actually don't save any money with those hybrids if you net out the increased purchase price with your gas savings. In other words the premium you pay for the hybrid car is more than your expected gas savings. You may want to think about how many miles you plan on putting on the car before you go out and buy a hybrid assuming that you'll save money with it.
You may find this surprising but some people, and likely a majority of people who already own hybrids, aren't doing it to save money...
Apparently the big trend in the auto industry is towards vehicles like the PT Cruser, or the Scion, or the Honda Element, which a small group of people will absolutely fall in love with, but which will make everybody else say, "What were you thinking?!?" I think this falls into that class.
I agree. An article on it....http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/suvs/0505_toyota_fj_cruiser/ What happened?
