Maybe the best way to really get Webber thinking about Houston is to destroy the Kings tomorrow. He's already familiar with the talent of our players, but has not really been a victim of their play. It's a pretty tall order, considering the kings seem to have a knack for beating us, but a good solid win would help in nailing down the playoffs this year - and perhaps in getting webber next year.

The best way to get Webber is the same way Orlando got Hill, McGrady and almost Duncan:

Win with youth, heart and hardwork! Have the surprise team of the year, have an offensive system designed for fast guards running around a pivot man, and have the coach of the year.

We've got it all!

The best way to land Webber is to make the playoffs this year! This will show a Webber-like swagger, mental toughness and steady improvement...

Why leave Sac-Town--a team on the verge of a top playoff seed--to go to a team in the lottery?

Steve and Cuttino are exciting and are definitely the future in the league, but still...you gotta be a contender...

Montgo,
If we had Webber we could win it all. Again and again.
I think Webber would prefer Steve and Cat to his current teammates. He loves the guys. Has said so. J-Will? Imploding even as we debate this matter.
And also has a local cousin hyping us up. We can get him. Sacramento had its moment in the sun.

I am withya on the implosion and being in the playoffs adds the extra hype needed to land him. It is also an equalizer in the fight with other suitors like Orlando and NY!

If Webber scores us at a 7 out of 10 as being a great place to be. Making the playoffs puts us at 8, getting to the second round puts us at 10.......

the question is not whether he likes us better than Sac teammates, but better than the Knicks.

I say we COMPLETELY ABANDON the center position, and develop a new offensive scheme all together with are starting five.

Webber and Mo manning the Strong Forward and Power Foward spots, Cuttino at the Scoring Guard, Anderson at the Defensive Guard, and Stevie at the Point.

Completely invert the center position to the point. You saw how with the right pieces our guards can do anything.

So Imagine

Webber
Mo
Anderson
Cuttino
Francis

starting out the game: Two Shooting Forwards and One with considerable Inside game. A defensive Guard, a Scoring Guard and Stevie.

are bench could be something like this:
guards:
Moochie
Colson

big men:
cato
thomas/rogers

shooters:
bullard(any shooter)
walt(any shooter)
langhi or another big man

with that bench we can plug in Cato if we need a center, we can plug in Moochie or shooters get a stagnant offense going and the big men for change of pace.

Sounds like DYNASTY.

the question is how well kelvin cato plays.

if webber goes east (ny), wherever he chooses will more than likely end up in the nba finals. the east is pathetic and he is that good.

however, if he wants to come to houston, he must consider a few roadblocks, namely san antonio and los angeles (lakers, of course). webber, i'm sure, has no desire to bttle against shaq at the center spot - which is where he'd be playing in houston, should the catomic bomb implode. should he EXPLODE however - at least defensively, as he has been the past few games - webber could play the power forward and tackle duncan and grant - much more to his liking, i'm sure than shaq or david robinson.

in the east, webber could play center or power forward - it would not matter because the east is "paint-weak". the west, at least in it's top teams, is not.

bottom line,

if you want webber, you'll need a frontcourt mate (preferably center) to help him out and form a formidable tandem.

btw,

could you imagine a webber/cato front line with motay coming off the bench? UNREAL. francis/mobley backcourt. UNREAL.

we'd be the best team in the west. hands down.

CATO FOR WEBBER....CATO FOR WEBBER....CATO FOR WEBBER
