This is lining up to be a fantastic fight on Saturday. Mayweather is considered by many to be the best pound for pound fighter out there right now. Gatti (my personal favorite fighter) has the title and is fighting at home in Atlantic City. This might harken back to the Gatti vs. Mickey Ward trilogy, except that Mayweather and Gatti are not friends. These 2 have some serious bad blood for each other. Last Saturday, on HBO, they interviewed both fighters at the same time jsut before the Antonio Tarver vs. Glen Johnson fight (a very good match in itself). Mayweather wouldn't shut up or stop putting down Gatti for 2 seconds. Gatti tried to contain himself but it got too much in the end and the jawed at each other for a few minutes.

Who do you think will win and how. I'm going with a Gatti KO. Mayweather is a great fighter but Gatti is a warrior.

Gatti by decision. I can't pick against Gatti.

I think that if Gatti is to win, it almost has to be by KO. Mayweather is probably too good for Gatti to outscore over 12 rounds. I just want to see Mayweather on the ground.

I hope Gatti knocks the crap out of Mayweather, but I think "Pretty Boy" will win a decision.

If it goes to a decision, Mayweather wins.
If it ends before Round 12, Gatti wins.

I think it will be going Mayweather's way early, with him racking up the points, but then in the 5th round or so Gatti will start to get to him. The question is...will he be able to get to him strong enough to score a KO or TKO? Remember Mayweather has never really been seriously hit before.

Still deciding if I'm going to buy the PPV, or....does anyone know of any sports bars showing it? BW3 in Royal Oaks is usually really good about showing PPV fights. Whaddya think? Anyone up for a get together to watch this? I think it will be a very entertaining fight.

Yeah, I'm definitely interested. I just called BW3 in Royal Oaks, Live Sports Cafe and Champs Americana, and none of them are showing the fight.

$44.95. I can't seem to find any information on if there will be an undercard or not. Nothing on hbo.com/boxing says anything about an undercard. I would hope for $45 that there would be at least 1 fight before hand.

Mayweather is going to destroy Gatti. You may hate the guy but he's too mobile and quick for Gatti, He going to tag Gatti with 3-5 punch combinations every time Gatti tries for a homerun punch (don't let him fool you into thinking he's going to bo with Floyd). Gattie may buzz PBF but in all likelyhood, PBF will win on a stoppage on cuts or an easy decision. People seem to forget he destroyed power punchers like Corrales and N'Dou and beat Castillo twice. Gatti (even though I love him) is a B-level fighter.

I went to the Tarver-Johnson fight over in Memphis last week. It was an ok match, the one they had before it I thought was better.

From the looks of it I say Gatti on this match.

When Quartey (sp?) got knocked down in the 9th, I wasn't sure he could finish out that round. He had it on points, but Philips really knocked the crap out of him with that punch.

Does anybody remember what happened when Gatti faced another speed fighter in Oscar De La Hoya? Gatti got beat, and beat badly. Mayweather is going to pound the crap out of Gatti and it's not even going to be close. I love Gatti and the man can take a punch. I think he'll last about 6 rounds before the ref calls it because Gatti's face is too beat up.

Damn sucks that nobody is showing this fight, I was planning on watching it at Bw3's.

I think Mayweather in a decision, but I'd love to see Gatti take him out.

Yes he has by Jose Luis Castillo in a fight which Mayweather should of lost but from what I've seen Floyd has a pretty good chin.

    Found the undercard info...

    • Jr. welterweight: Vivian Harris (25-1-1, 17 KOs) vs. Carlos Maussa (17-2, 15 KOs), 12 rounds for Harris' title

    • Mini flyweight: Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon (22-0, 5 KOs) vs. Gerardo Verde (13-1, 10 KOs), 12 rounds, for Calderon's title

    • Junior welterweight: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (19-0, 14 KOs) vs. Ruben Galvan (21-6-2, 9 KOs), 6 rounds

Not sure what, if any, will be on the telecast. I'm interested in seeing Chavez Jr. How about a Mini Flyweight fight? These guys are 105 lbs! That's freaking tiny.
