I have a friend who spoke to The Dream at a grocery store the other day and here's The Dream's prediction for the upcoming NBA Championship....

"San Antonio in 6, the Spurs have a better offense"

There it is... straight from The Dream.

    Just throwing this out there.

Man, I miss the Dream. Even if he left for Toronto at the end of his career, he is still well respected in Houston. He should just come back as an assistant coach to help Yao w/ his skills.

It would be a boost to the Rockets.

Actually I could believe it. A few years back my dad saw Hakeem at Fiesta picking fruit. So it could happen. He's a very down to earth man in that regard, so in no way do i believe that he thinks he is above shopping for his own groceries sometimes.

Because of this thread, I revisited the thread that started the rockHEAD rule, the one where Dream told rockHEAD he was leaving the Rockets. Awesome thread. I won't link it because it's a dead thread and if I did some noob would post in it.

Don't think he has any intrest in coaching, at this point he seems much more interested in his religous well being, would be nice to see him in the TC on the bench though...

Given that Hakeem apparently is only a casual fan these days, his prediction only means a bit more than "Joey on the Westside." :)

I love dream, but as of lately I think I am starting to greatly dislike him. I just am more or less pissed off at the fact that he has no role in the Houston Rockets orginization whatsoever. I really don't think its Houston's fault, I mean lets be realistic here, even if Houston didn't want him helping us, if he tried, and failed to get a position, Rockets fans would be in an uproar. I wish he would mentor a kid in the NBA (preferably Yao) and let the dream live on. Maybe I'm off base here.

Hakeem gave the Rockets and the city all he had when he played. If he wants to study and stay out of the limelight for the rest of his days, more power to him. He's "earned" the time off.

u dislike him, you dislike us all

why in the heck would he work with a system where no one he knows or even knew works anymore. Rudy's gone, all the coaches gone, JVG's running things. I mean the last thing a retired person wants is stress in his life, and working under JVG im sure is stress.

We all wish that he could mentor Yao, well maybe he will maybe not.

its his damn choice. He did what we payed him for and now he is enjoying his retirement, so hop off his grill.

    You are off base.

You're starting to greatly dislike Dream because he doesn't want a role in the organization?

That makes no sense to me.

yeah you are way off base man. that just goes to show how selfish of a person you are. you think that because he played here that he has to devote his life to our city and the rockets? it'd be great if he came back and helped out our city. But he's an individual also. there are things that he wants to do. let him do it and if he wants to come back and help we'll accept him with open arms.
