Have you seen last night Jon Berry let 3 seconds off without even trying to shoot the ball, before the end of the 3rd when he had a defense rebound. This really pissed me off. Yes, we had the lead, but this is NBA it is not uncommon team catch up when trailing 20 plus. You just can not relax like that, especially when you are Jon Berry!!! You can not do that off the bench.
Maybe its just me. This season I have seen too many 1-second-no-shoot, more than the previous several season combined. The players are worried too much on their percentage, or they just do not like the trivial chance of falling. Whatever, I just do not think a professional Bball player should do that.

And if a single player shot those full court bombs regularly, whatever team that tried to sign him would use his low FG% against him. It's sad, but the league is still a business. If Tmac or Wesley did it while having poor shooting nights, people would still come here and complain that they are shooting too much.

Kobe is the example. A lot of people criticize Kobe for his low percent shooting. No one ever pointed out that Kobe shoots 95% of the last minute shots for the Lakers ...

Rule #1 about complaining about a particular player

Spell his name correctly. It's Jon Barry.

I do not understand your indifference about the play. I did not start a thread when I saw player did not shoot when they had only 1 second. It was 3 seconds. You can push the ball to the midcourt and shoot from there. Steve, Cat and even M. Norris never gave up that shot. It is about passion to win the game. What I am saying is, you should not give up any chance to shoot except the very last play of the 4th.

IIRC on the previous Rockets play there was a turnover and I think the reason Barry held the ball was because the Rockets were getting a little sloppy and he didn't want to give the philly fans anything to cheer about.

If players like Barry and Sura don't exemplify 'passion' then I don't know who does.

You're definitely reaching on this one.

I gave this thread FIVE STARS !!

cause we need more complaints about guys not takin' half court shots at the end of quarters when the team is up by 20 !

:D

...it raised the average from 2 to 3 stars
