Would you draft Vincent Young in 06' if he was still on the board?
Carr would be entering his 5th year already.

To have this discussion I assume DC doesn't progress and in that case I would definately draft Vince, he is a special talent.

Too early to tell. The guy is a freak runner, but his passing game is far, far from NFL ready and is really not even college ready. Most people think he will be a receiver in the NFL, not a QB.

no way he'll be a QB inthe NFL.

He's most likely to be a WR, and less less likely to be a saftey.

and dude, Vince is 6'5"...how many 6'5" running backs have you seen in the NFL? He'd get hurt pretty quicky.

He's not going to make it in the NFL as a QB, unless he seriously steps up his mid-range passing game.

Vince will never be half the qb that Carr is right now. I'd guess that he would make a good receiver, but I have never seen him play there.

To play QB in the NFL, you have to be able to rifle that 5 or 10 yard out right into the bread-basket. I haven't seen that from VY.

The NFL game is much different than college. There are linebackers in the NFL that are faster than Vince Young.

I think a better comparison would be Hines Ward or Randal-El.

Vick has a cannon for an arm.

He's deceptively fast. He doesn't look like a burner because he runs so effortlessly with those long strides...kind of like he's gliding.

Let's just say there isn't a linebacker alive that is going to catch him in the open field.

He'll definitely be in the NFL as a receiver or safety...just not at QB.

And to answer the initial post, I think he's probably a end of the 1st day guy...end of third round maybe. He may possibly slip to the 4th round. ...but honestly, he's just such a freak that I wouldn't be surprised if a good team that didn't need him to contribute right away took a chance in the 2nd.

Vince is special, but has to make strides as a QB...Having said that, you'd want that athlete on your team...

The better question is Reggie M...he's good, but is he good enough to succeed at the next level...

Thats the same thing I was going to say. All those tackles he breaks in college won't happen in the NFL. If he is still on the board and does not mind play wideout then I would love the Texans to take him.

I'm just hoping that his lack of a pro-quality arm means that Vince will stick around in Austin through his senior season. I'd love to get a few more years from him in burnt orange, and he'd benefit from more time to develop as a passer.

I think anyone that watched VY play this past season would definitely agree that he seriously improved his entire passing game, not just the middle. So Baqui's statement is perfectly valid. Why dredge up year old threads?
