He can't shoot, play defense, or create his own shoot. He rarely brings the ball up court so whats the difference betweem him and JJ. Was does he always guard 2's when he is 6-1. Sura is taller and stronger and better off guarding 2's.
I agree. They talk about this rhythem crap, but I really think that spot up shooters should have a much easier time of fitting in. So far, these guys are doing a poor job.
I think it goes to show that JVG can kill off black and white shooters. He's an equal opportunity coach.
Give him a little more time. I watched him play quite a bit in NO last season and he is definitly a skilled role player than can shoot. Him guarding SG's on the other hand...
and a black Boki, and a light JJ, and a light Steve Francis, just another shooting guard in a point guard's body that supposedly doesn't work in this "system" because he turns the ball over too much and doesn't shoot a high enough percentage and doesn't like to dish but prefers to shoot. Yup, another Steve Francis. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Francis had something like 13 dimes tonight. He must be playing way over his head or got lucky somehow down there in Orlando because remember, he can't shoot and can't pass and turns the ball over. Maybe we can trade Wesley and Barry for errrrrrrrrrrr Mobley? Yeah Mobley yeah, he can shoot and defend. Yeah, that's it. It must be the shoes. What kind of shoes are they wearing in Orlando? Can't be the system, it must be the shoes. Somebody tell Yao to sign with Nike.
wesley sucks??? who is the stupid coach who ask wesley to guard to Kobe??? this is the dumbest defensive assignment i ever seen....
I guess everyone of Wesley's former coaches is just as dumb because Wesley usually ended up guarding the opposing 2. Wesley's defense wasn't the problem. His and Barry's lack of shooting and the team's lack of rebounding was the problem. You'll be back to riding his jock next week.
come on, wesley is only 6-1...if i was JVG i will put wesley to guard aikins, sura on butler and tmac on kobe... Why wesley on kobe???
Since Wesley has been with the Rockets I would say this was his worst game. However he had to play Kobe a lot and that is a difficult task. Kobe was smart and posted up Wesley in the first half and we had no answer for that. Wesley's shot has been erratic, but since he has been with the Rockets he has been a good passer and a good defender. It just was an off night for him, like many of the Rockets. True, Wesley needs to make shots, but when judging Wesley's play you have to sometimes look deeper than just his FGs. He does a lot of other stuff out there that makes a difference.
haha, I love the stupid pessimism. Wesley is a damn good player. He's a very good passer, he can defend, and he can shoot. Oh I'm sorry, JJ shot at least 40 or 50% in every game, right? Oh I'm sorry, JJ wouldn't have gotten roasted by Kobe, since JJ is a badass, right? What's stupid is, JJ took a lot more ill-advised shots than Wesley does. Most on this board acknowledged that and hated his shots when they were taken. Now that Wesley is only shooting open ones, everyone's unhappy. He had a bad game. Calm down. He's proven over his whole career to be a shooter.
No, you don't know about Wesley, he is very good defender and teams always put him on opposite team best player at guard position, guarding those superstar, he was pretty sucessful through his career, last night Kobe was just too good to be guard by anybody.
