The kid is just huge. At 6'11 and 260+ pounds at 18 years old. The kid looks like Shaq did when he was a freshman at LSU. He moves better than anyone his size should. Wait until he fills out.

Wow, he looks like a bigger Karl Malone or non-alligator armed Kevin Willis!

Not sure about the shaq comparisn, shaq was never that defined.

Edit: meant to say, never had such proportionally huge shoulders.

Was he this big & muscualar in HS or did he, uh, start going to BALCO?

I came to the realization today when I couldn't tell him from Kelvin Cato on the court. The kid looks like he is already as big, if not bigger than Cato and he's freakin 18. He also has some nice footwork and demands the ball. There was a time where he just parked himself right in front of francis and wouldn't move until Francis passed him the ball. He also makes K-mart look small on the court.

i watched Orlando live against the Hawks when I was on my Thanksgiving vacation.

he is definitely gonna be a good player. he moves very well without the ball and doesnt try to do too much. shoots only wide open shots, or power moves close to the basket.

i think he will be a 20/10 guy in 3 years

I wouldn't go so far as to call him the next Shaq. But I like what I see so far in terms of his drive on the court. The guy is a worker. He is a hustler and he shows a lot of fire to get rebounds. That's a good sign. In a few years he will battle Jermaine O'Neal as the best PF in the East.

A few years from now the Amare Stoudamire / Dwight Howard battles might be very interesting to watch!

I dont think there is any question that Orlando rolled the dice on Howard and got it right. His upside is starting to show and in a few years he will be head and shoulders above Okafor. Okafor will be a nice PF player but Howard can be a "special" player.

Think the Wizards are shaking their heads at Howard and wishing that THEIR #1 pick Kwame had a quarter of the heart and determination that Howard has?
[Speaking of the Wizards, do my eyes deceive me and currently the Wizards are in FIRST place in the Eastern Conference!?!?! ]
