Yao Ming to Bring Houston Rockets to China for Two Games
Oct 04, 2004

http://english.epochtimes.com/news/4-10-4/23589.html

Just past his 24th birthday, Yao Ming has returned to the United States from Shanghai for pre-season games. He will stay until Oct. 10, after playing against the Miami Heat. Then, he will bring his Houston Rockets teammates to Beijing and Shanghai to play two games against the Sacramento Kings.

Returning to his birthplace, Shanghai, to play NBA games is a happy occasion for Yao. “This can ease my longing for home and give the Chinese fans an opportunity to watch the games live,” he said. In order to watch him play, some enthusiastic fans in China waited 20 hours in line to buy tickets. “I will play my best in order to thank the fans for their support,” Yao said.

The Oct. 14 game in Shanghai is very important to Yao. He has not played in the Shanghai stadium since leaving China’s National Team.

Yao says his physical condition and competitive state is better than they were last year. The Rockets’ conditioning coach, Anthony Falsone, has been training Yao to help him recover after playing in the Olympic Games in August. Yao will use the time before the NBA season to have a complete physical exam in San Francisco. The exam will focus on his ankles, knees and elbows. He will then return to Houston to prepare for training camp. Right now, his training partner is Tracy McGrady.

The choice of Rockets players in that ad is certainly interesting...

is that the floor they are going to play on? I love how its all Rockets Red, and for the border color, and you have the rockets Logo inside the three point line. And you have the NBA Logo near the midcourt line.

Then you have the Kings logo, in purple and black. That's pretty damn good.

someone needs to tell them to change the posters! Why is SF in them? More over, why is Gasol in them? This is ridiculous.

Well Gasol's in it because the guy dunking that we can't see is probably a rocket. And they also got a poster of Pike.
