Watching on Sci Fi network BOA and BOOM there is Dean Cain he does not seem to have done ANYTHING since Superman .. EXCEPT Sci Fi Channel Movies Every other movie .. . there he is Like my homegirl likes Lifetime everytime I'm there their is judith Light or Meredith Baxter Birney I ask . . is this the same movie. . .. she is like no. . . these channels seem to get locked into certain actors all the time. . it gets old Rocket River
Dean Cain also has that new series coming out where he's a baseball player. So that's something. But there are people who seem to do a lot of TV Movies.
My nostalgia has taken me to reading old threads to which I contributed. Last year, I discovered that one of the companies that makes the movies that are played on Lifetime and Sci-Fi, etc. has some operations in Dallas. The guy that co-owns the company got hold of one of my scripts last summer and had me in for a meeting, at the end of which, he said he wanted to take said script to Lifetime. While it was somewhat exciting to be close to selling script, I was a little disappointed in myself to think that I had written something that would make a good Lifetime movie and immediately imagined Tori Spelling or someone equally horrid in the lead role. Of course, it ended up that the guy never contacted me again, so I was spared both the excitement of getting a check for the script and the embarrassment of having to say I wrote a Lifetime movie.
Funny. Yeah my wife and I always make fun of those "Lifetime" movie titles that used to air on ABC on Sunday nights years ago. We would make up titles like: "Don't touch Me." "Not my Daughter!" "A Fathers Secret!" "Don't Take my Baby!" "Long Island Lolita II: Amy's Revenge!" "Moment of Truth" "Remembering The Dog" "When Daddy Comes Home" And of course the actors would be: Joan Van Ark Michele Lee Meredith Baxter Tori Spelling Tina Yothers Ann Jillian
Sci Fi channel has some of the most godawful things I've ever seen. Seriously, those so bad it's good type movies.
My wife loves Lifetime. She knows it's bad, but that's part of the appeal. I admit I have been suckered into a few of them. Some are pretty good. There was one where Meredith BB played this really crazy lady. I liked that one. And I love sci-fi movies but the movies on the SF channel do absolutely nothing for me. I would think it was cool as hell if I wrote a decent Lifetime movie. Hey mrpaige, I was looking for you in the "that guy" thread http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=107580&highlight=inbreed...
Those of you who mention Lifetime, but not without mentioning a safety net (my wife blah, blah, blah) are actually saying that you love Lifetime and if your wife didn't change the channel to Spike every once in a while you would watch it 24/7. Accept it. Denial is a very sad thing.
The problem is they are both horrible awful movies as well as intriguing. If you catch one at the beginning, you get suckered in. They are like a bad accident, you don't want to look, but can't look away. Drama sells...even bad drama!!
Lou Diamond Phillips, now i've seen that dude in some bad movies. the type of movies that only get 1 or 1.5 stars on the digital guide. and you have to earn 1 or 1.5 stars. you can't just be a bad movie, you've gotta go the extra mile. i'm not sure how many have been on the sci-fi channel, but it seems like at least one has, maybe "Bats" was.
I think Kellie Martin may very well unseat Merideth Baxter Birney as the queen of the Lifetime afternoon movie. Check out some of the titles of the TV movies she's been in: -If Someone Had Known -The Face on the Milk Carton -Her Hidden Truth -Her Last Chance -Hidden in Silence (my personal favorite) -Breaking Through -On the Edge of Innocence "Hey, it's a living!"
