How about Rockets/Philly/Orlando 3-way deal... check this:

Houston gets: McGrady, Snow

Orlando gets: Iverson, Rockets 1st rd draft pick

Philly gets: Francis, Mobley

Sounds interesting and is totally possible, yet I don't think Philly would like to deal Snow nor do I think Iverson would like to go to Orlando.

Would sure give Rockets more versatile lineup although I don't know how bright McGrady is (ala zone defenses etc). Anyways, just a thought... any feedback?

Why does ORL want the headache that is Allan Iverson and a likely late teens or early 20's draft pick next season for McGrady? (Utah already has our 2004 1st rounder). They'd be further ahead to take Francis and Mobley.

ORL already can't win in the EC with TMac who his light years better than AI. Iverson is high-mileaged and will make half again as much as Francis for the next 5 seasons. No way that's ORL's best deal on the table for McGrady.

TMac and Snow for Francis and Mobley has a severe "homer" ring to it.

I don't think Orlando would give McGrady to get Iverson. Iverson's a smaller, more hotheaded version of McGrady who's also older than McGrady.

Numerous deals mentioned in the other McGrady threads seem better to me. SF+Cato+Cat for TMac+Howard makes a lot more sense for Orlando. so does SF+Cato for Tmac alone.

Not sure how much sense those make for the Rockets though.

If you threw in Cato somehow for Orlando, the deal would make more sense for them.

What's the exact rule on trading draft picks? I thought we couldn't trade first rounders in consecutive years?

Not exactly. You can't make a trade that leaves you without a 1st round pick in two consective future drafts. Once the 2004 draft is held and Utah uses the Rox pick, the counter is reset to zero. Therefore, when FA signings and trades begin in mid-July the Rox can trade their 2005 1st rounder because that is now only one future pick.

I swear you should charge, or at least get letters after your name, like Gater, D.Cap., or something similar...

Steve Francis would be a more suitable comparison. Because, in that comparison, all Iverson can't do that Steve can, is rebound.

McGrady is more well rounded, and has more brains, in game.
