IMO there a lot of similarities between the the two series.

99, one team was ladden with future hof (hakeem, Pip, Charles), the other team has some bright young stars (Shaq and Kobe)

04, one team was ladden with future hof (Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton), the other team has some bright young stars (Yao and Francis)

99, People felt that the centers weren't getting the ball enough (Shaq and Hakeem were both vocal about this).

99, the all star guards had questions about their role on their team (kobe didn't want to continue to play second fiddle, Pippen didn't want to play in the system)

It's funny how sometimes, thing just seems to coincides doesn't it and the role reverses? that year the young Lakers beat the hof, let's hope that this year, the young Rox can beat the hof, I mean Karma should be on our side this year right?

and if i remember right the rockets lost game 1 by a small margin (maybe even 1 point) as mobley was blocked by shaq at the end

Jackson missed a 3 we lost game 1 by a point

Game 2 we get blown out
game 2 we lost by a sizable margin

game 3 pippin and barkley had big games to win handedly
game 3 all-rounded effort by everyone to win the game nicely


game 4 the lakers won to end the series

game 4? i dunno i hope it doesnt follow the trend from 99, course ithe series wont end regardless tomorrow outcome

99 - One team had a championship coach trying to reach the promise land once again with a vastly different team (Rudy). The other team had a coach in his first year with the team, and there was a lot of debate whether or not his player's were listening to him (Kurt Rambis).
