While this team continues to be leaded by a street player, the team won't go anywhere. SF is a great player but not a team player. Unfortunately, in the NBA you need 5 players. He is always trying to outshine his opponents firsts no matter how the team does. A few times he has decided to stop dribling the ball and making one touch passes the offense flows much better. I don't think he will ever change, he just has to big of an ego.
This year most guards have been schooling him, even rockies pgs.

Lets trade him and lets get something of value for him. Let's don't wait and probably don't get anything for him and we will be stuck with his big contract.

Yeah let us trade him...
He's not going anywhere.
I don't know..but Francis cannot dribble! His defense...well we cannot defend the pickandrolls sorta like the Lakers because Yao is too slow...
Yao and Taylor cannot play together on defense! It's just HORRID!
But Yao and Cato..not very good together on offense!
Francis is not going anywhere..I think he was tired..I thought he started off well. We just have to make shots...
Maybe Mobley and Padgett for Harrington and Tinsley
And get Shareef Abdur Rahim for Cato and Padgett.

FRANCIS fouls a lot but never gets called for them so that's good. What I cannot stand is him and Mobley travelling! THAT IS JUST...NBA...double dribbling..carrying..that's lol.

And it does not help much with Moochie as backup. We really need a veteran backup.

No one is going anywhere though.

Who cares how 'talented' Francis is, if he's going to turn into a CBA scrub at the end of games. Its pathetic. When the going gets tough Steve always thinks "ME ME ME."

Here we go with the hatin again. I still do not think Steve is the problem. I think a lot of it can be attributed to the fact that he is worn out at the end of games because he does not have a legit backup. And the reason it seems like he's selfish at the end of games is because he probably feels its his responsibility to make something happen as the leader of this team. I still think they should've switched Mobley onto Marbury and let Steve guard Joe Johnson.

Is this guy even a rocket fan?

It's sad that we always hear comments like:

"Jordan's desire to win won't let this team down"

"Kobe's fire in his chest won't let this team lose"...

We hear these things after they getting in to shootouts with a Clyde, a Dominick, a Bonzi or a VC. They get credits because they always WIN those personal battles although they would play selfishly....

I'll pretend I don't know that you are trying to make a comparison here.

I actually was making a comparison. Steve does the same thing Jordan does. But the results are different. Jordan won those personal battles 80% of the time. Steve... let's see whether he can do something on Kenny Anderson...

Kenny Anderson? If Steve doesn't get his numbers against Kenny, he's got problems.

Jordan was the greatest player ever, and even he didn't win until he started trusting his teammates. Kobe showed last year he's nothing without Shaq. Both players are also far superior to Steve Francis in terms of both talent and execution. There's simply no comparison.

These are the key words here! Players like Jordan and Kobe are a different breed. You can sense when they are taking, or about to take the game over. They have the wherewithal on the court to achieve great things. Steve will never have this.

Harrington and Tinsley?.. can Tinsley buy a basket in an NBA game and Shareef Addur Rahim is not even consistent with his play.

egn, MFW:

What you said is exactly what I have in mind. I was trying to say that things like "taking over", "desire to win", "carrying a team" are exaggerated and twisted now, at least in Steve'd head. He's making progress, but deep inside he still thinks he's a MJ type player --- trusting his teamates in the first 3 quarters and taking over in the first 12 minutes. I don't think he's there yet and I doubt he'll ever be. (ok, i'm not saying Yao is going to be the MD. don't bash).

So you blame Francis' bad play on Moochie? LOL. Steve is 'worn out' at the end of games? WTH? EVERY player is tired at the end of games, don't use that as an excuse for your boy.
