I’m not a wrestling fan, but I know quite a few here are so I thought I’d pass this along. EVERYBODY in Calgary knew Stu, wrestling fan or not, so his passing was big news here. He was a local and provincial icon. He has been quite frail for a couple of years so his death was not a big surprise. For those who don’t know he was the father of Hart brothers, Brett and Owen being the most famous, and he trained many many past and current pro wrestlers.

RIP Stu. +

Yea, its a tragic. It was actually mentioned in the WWE v.3.0 thread. He was a great mentor to a bunch of past and present wrestlers and he is now united with his son Owen.

RIP +

Stu Hart was one of the last of his kind. He knew how to train wrestlers to wrestle as though it were an art form. Look at the phenomenal ringwork of Chris Benoit as a tribute to the Hart style.

Too many "trainers" teach sloppy ring skills and focus too much on high spots. Stu did it the way it was meant to be done.

His influence and pioneer vision will be sorely missed by all those fond of the art called wrestling.

RIP Mr. Hart...you've earned it.
