    SQUIRREL?!?!?

I've heard of it, but I thought it was just an urb, no, rural legend.

This isn't one from your front yard, or one that just fell from the transformer, no?

    My marinade:

Mix some fajita seasoning (mild) with Schlitz or any good, thick beer and soak the meat overnight.

    Baste:

Mix worchester sauce with some garlic salt, olive oil (smidge) and honey mustard dressing. Baste lightly, but often. Absolutely delicious on shrimp.

Squirrel is great. Plus, it's so versatile. Squirrel soup, squirrel sandwich, squirrel pot pie, squirrel on toast, squirrel jerky, squirrel stew, squirrel salad, squirrel casserole, squirrel & beans, squirrel beer, squirrel omelette, squirrel sundae... the list goes on and on.

ROXRAN makes the best squirrel quiche I have ever tasted.

I tried to cook squirrel once when I was in college.

I cut it up, and fried the pieces, then I made a bit of roux with the drippings, added some chicken broth to make a thin gravy. I added the fried squirrel to the gravy and cooked it for several hours adding water as needed.

I cooked it so long, I figured it would just fall apart. Boy was I wrong. It was like shoe leather. My dog wouldn't even eat it.

    I'll stick with chicken.

    Fajita marinade.

In a big pan or dish or even plastic baggie...fill with 1/2 Pineapple juice from a can and 1/2 Soy sauce. Squeeze a lime into it as well.

Put Meat in mixture (pref. beef skirt steak) and put in fridge over night.

Throw on the grill for good fajitas.

By the way, this is the Pappasito's recipe for marinade.

    1.Zesty Italian dressing

    2. Lea and Perrins Worchestire sauce

    3. Lemon and pepper seasoning.

Marinade at least 3-4 hours, preferably overnight.
    Cook 'em up and enjoy.

This doesn't sound good. What did I miss? If this is about what I'm thinking it is, I might be able to share some experiences with you.

I actually saw my first organized quirrel crossing a week ago. I've jogged a long time and never seen that before. About 15 squirrels, kid you not, walked across a busy street in single file. No skittering. They were pretty cool about it. I wasn't hungry at the time. So I didn't kill and eat them. But I was shocked.

    Hey Randy,

I didn't want to start a new thread about this, but I got your message last night. I didn't get home until 9:45 because of school. I'll be home tonight, so if you get a chance, give me a call. Glad to hear that you are doing better.
