Need help on this discussion with friend

PG: Steve Kerr

Why: bulls, san antonio... clutch and stable in tense moments.

SG: ?

SF: Robert Horry
Why: Rockets, Lakers, (now San Antonio?), clutch, versatile, good overall play/D and pretty much the allrounded perfect roleplayer

PF: Dennis Rodman
Why: Pistons, Bulls. One of best rebounders/defenders of all time. Does not make bullheaded mistakes like many big rebounding/dunking/defensive big men.

C: ?

center: Ben Wallace
and yes he is a role player, he is a great role player, but he is no offensive player, he is a great defensive and rebounding player, with rodman he is an unbelieveble defensive combe, the only problem will be the scoring

I think you might be mis-remembering John Paxson moments as Steve Kerr moments on the Bulls. also, Kerr really just hit a couple clutch shots with the Spurs...I wouldn't call that All-Role Player....rather All Clutch.

All Role Player is going to be starters.

Dennis Rodman, imo, is the all-time all Role Player. I mean, doesn't the dude define role player, and doesn't he have 5 rings.

C is Wes Unseld, imo. But he's not last 20yrs So, some could argue Bill Lamebeer...but I hate to acknowledge him. I'd take Divac over Lamebeer. But I agree with Ben Wallace as well.

PG--Nate McMillan??

SG--hard to call one a roleplayer vs not. where do you draw the line. I couldn't mention one without starting an argument over semantics. But how about Andrew Toney? He use to destroy Danny Ainge...hehe...that's worth my vote right there.

SF--can't argue with Horry. So it becomes a matter of taste. Does Tony Kukoc count or not? Without looking at the history of the award, I'd call Kukoc won of the best players to ever win 6th Man, next to McHale.

HP,

Good call on McMillan. That is the 1st person that came to mind. Bigtime defender who gave us fits.

PG - McMillan
SG - Byron Scott (thought of Andrew Toney too)
SF - Bobby Jones
PF - Horace Grant or AC Green or Buck Williams
C - Sikma or Mark Eaton

I liked John Johnson who I think played SF with the Sonics in '79 when they won the championship. I think they had Gus Williams, Dennis Johnson, Jack Sikma, Lonnie Shelton with Downtown Freddy Brown off the bench.

J. Johnson was a heady player who averaged about 5 assists from the SF position.

...and Sam Perkins, Robert Horry, and maybe Kevin Willis should be on the list, but I don't know where.
