According to Mark Berman on Fox 26 in Houston, a source confirmed that Taylor will make his choice on Friday between Houston and Seattle after turning down an offer from Toronto.

Don't know if this has been posted yet. Just thought I'd add it.

Well, the Sonics makes no sense for Taylor if he wants to try and go for a big money contract in 2001 so I suppose Houston is the destination.

I just hope that Rudy has not promised him anything and has something planned to get a banger. Our frontline right now will be Charmin soft.

Anti, LOL!

It does sound like Mo's heading to Houston now. Pretty much the whole point of signing for 2.25M is so he can prove himself being worthy of a BIG contract in the following year. Seattle already has Vin Baker at PF, and even Rashard plays PF in certian spurts for the team, so Taylor would not get near the minutes he would here to showcase himself. Not even mentioning they don't have cap room after next summer. It makes zero sense for him to go to Seattle.

Baker & Taylor in the same locker room? Depressing to think about that.

Mango-Imagine how frightened Rashard would get. He'd have in one corner, a depressed big guy, and a guy who doesn't rebound, and in the other, Gary Payton, and Vernon Maxwell. That could get dangerous!

Has anyone considered that some of Mo Taylor's problems could be attributed to the fact that he has played for possibly the worst organization in all of sports for the past three years?

The Rockets ability to develop quality big men is as good as any team in the league. And, I doubt, no, I know Rudy would never go out and sign a guy with major talent and a bad attitude. That goes completely against his personal philosophy.

An addition of Taylor would mean a significant upgrade in the frontcourt.

Jeff, I really think this is amputating our chemistry.

This guy knows he must be a scorer so he'll get paid next year...and that is what we do not need.

Who was the primary offensive threat in LAC?

It seems as if Mo will have alot of open shots this year.

Who will players rotate off of:

K. Cato
M. Taylor
W. Williams
S. Anderson
S. Francis

Kelvin is the weakest offensive threat, but he can dunk left handed alley-oops w/ the best of them.

This lineup is rather formidable. Substitute Walt with Dan or move Shandon to the 3 and Mobley to the 2 and the Rockets still have one of the better lineups in the league. This is going to be a fun year for Rockets basketball.

p.s. the above post assumes that Mo Taylor will sign w/ the Rockets.

Outside of Olajuwon, who have we really developed (and I somehow think Hakeem would've developed no matter where he played)? Ok, maybe Jim Petersen.

I agree with Jeff. This team desperately needs a post-up option. Is there a team in our division with a PF worse than KT? Taylor would at least help close the gap. We're basically the team in power if he wants to come to us. We have the ability to tell him "We won't give you the jackpot next year, unless your rebounding and defense improves." There is WAY to much pressure on the guards to score right now, that either teams will figure how to stop them, they'll burn out halfway through the season (or get injured), or both. KT is not an adequate PF in our division. Taylor is. It'd be a lot easier to then pickup a rebounding/defending workhorse like Jerome Williams, that it is to get Chris Webber, or the like.

DoD-You did. Othella Harrington.

(Note to all: Big men are not supposed to shoot 39% from the field.....paid in full by the Kenny Thomas Shouldn't be the Rockets Starting Power Forward foundation.)

ROCKETBOOSTER: The league has changed. Gone are the 80-72 games (except for Cleveland vs. Miami!). The Rockets have consistently said in interviews that they have put a premium on scoring.

The Rockets top players outside of Francis and Mobley are not consistent scorers. Anderson and Williams can only be relied on for moments. They aren't every-game big time scorers. Bullard is a three-point specialist. Cato, Thomas, Norris and Rogers aren't going to light it up on a nightly basis. Langhi can score but needs time to develop.

Even Olajuwon will be overmatched fairly often and will have to change his offense to suit the new system.

The Rockets need a third scoring option because it almost never leaves them without two scorers on the floor at a time. If Mobley can average 12-15, Francis 18-22 and Taylor around 17-19, you have the makings of a very tough offensive trio.

In the West, we need all the firepower we can get as scores will continue to increase.

Jeff, I'll tell you right now, if Mo Taylor shoots the ball 16 times a game, like last year, this teams in for a hellova long ride.

Now if he becomes more of a flow type player, by feeding off Francis an Mobley, then...I can't wait.

I just don't wanna see a guy posting down on the block 16 times a game, thats all.
