Glen Rice, Maurice Taylor, and Kelvin Cato. Our 3 highest paid players. All I see on this board is ways to trade these players. Why not give them away, who needs them. Check this out. Trade Kelvin Cato, Maurice Taylor, and Glen Rice to the Nuggets for a future 2nd round pick. You know what, I'd even throw in Cuttino Mobley and Moochie Norris just to sweeten deal. I'm serious, Mobley, Taylor, Rice,Norris, and Cato for a future 2nd round pick. The Nuggets got a riduculous amount of cap this offseason. And tell me, what big name agent will wake up one day and decide to spend the next 7 years of his life in Denver. The Nuggets can do this trade and still have enough money to sign a free agent worth about 7 million. Some of you may bash me and say that the Nuggets will never want these overpaid players. Maurice Taylor, when made the 2nd option in LA scored 18 PPG. He can do that for Denver as well. Cato, arguabley the best back-up center in the league, will become a force in Denver. And Rice, can also provide, and only has a year left on his contract. And the Nuggets had the least PPG last season, so Mobley can give them 20+ PPG And as I said before, no ones going to be willing to sign with Denver, but we can trade all out garbage to them. Now our advantageos are amazing. 24 million comes off the cap. We can then sign Jermaine O'Neal, Gary Payton, and Lamar Odom. All this done because of one trade.

Now look at our line-up and Denvers new line-up on the bottom
Starters
PG-Gary Payton
SG-Steve Francis
SF-Lamar Odom
PF-Jermaine O"Neal
C-Yao Ming

Back-ups
PG-Tito Maddox
SG-Juaquin Hawkins
SF-Lamar Odom/Terence Morris
PF-Eddie Griffin
C-Jason Collier

Denvers New Line-up
PG-Shammond Williams
SG-Cuttino Mobley
SF-Carmelo Anthony
PF-Maurice Taylor
C-Kelvin Cato
They would even have players like Glen Rice, Nene Hilario, Nikolaz Skitishvili, Rodney White, Donnell Harvey, Moochie Norris, and Marcus Camby coming off the bench.

Doesn't this trade help both teams.

please tell this is a joke and a pathetic attempt at sarcastically ridiculing the other posters who post stupid trade proposals.

Not to take anything away from Odom, ( I have partied with the guy in the past you know?). But I would rather have Elton's Brand on our Dynasty. Sorry Broham, but we have a bigger need at the 4 spot.

Good idea.

But instead, why not just trade Cato/Griffin/Mobley/Moochie to Indiana for a forced waive card, and then use that card to make San Antonio waive Tim Duncan. Then, we simply sign Duncan ourselves! After that, we'll contact our good friends the Tleilaxu and get them to grow a Kevin Garnett ghola (clone) for us in one of their axlotl tanks. That should solve our problem at SF. As for SG, we'll just build a robot modelled after Iverson, but with a 100% FG%.

New lineup:

PG: Steve Francis
SG: AI2 (the name of the robot)
SF: Kevin Garnett ghola
PF: Tim Duncan
C: Yao Ming

Who's with me?

You got a problem with perimeter defense there, fade.

Ok, so the trade doesn't work. Please investigate the salary match on picks rules:

http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm

If you really want to play with cap room, you need to get expiring contracts. You can't just trade max salaries for minimum picks. You also need to define how your allstar team of free agents operates. You can define what you want to achieve, and game plan for it.

No way. That lineup would never work.

Instead of Iverson, we'd be better off writing the genetic code for Jason Kidd from scratch, growing him ourselves, and accelerating his growth until he's 25. That way, we got a guy who can distribute and guard the bigger 2s that Iverson/Francis can't.

Additionally, I think Steve's shot is kinda flat. We'd need to wipe his memory clean with one o'them gadgets from Men in Black, put him in a bubble outside of time and train him for 500 years (as he perceives it, not actual time) until he can make at least 80% of his left-handed halfcourt hooks.

Finally, Yao is not nearly aggressive enough. We all know it. This could be remedied by capturing him, depriving him of sleep for 173.8 hours straight, and then tell him a bunch of shady-looking midget extras from Lord of the Rings did it and set him loose on him. If he manages to mortally wound at least 5 in the span of the first 15 seconds, then we have accompished our mission.

So here's our new lineup:

PG: Jason Kidd (built in a laboratory with accelerated growth)
SG: Steve Francis (fixed shot due to 500 years training)
SF: Kevin Garnett ghola
PF: Tim Duncan (from forced waive card)
C: Yao Ming (with new animal-like aggression!)

I think this is clearly the way to go for next season.

You're a f***ing idiot. I'm sorry, but this is just moronic. You can't trade all of that for a 2nd round pick, it's against the rules for one. Also, I seriously doubt that all of those players you think would come here would be affordable, they'd all want max or close to max deals.

God, I hope this thread was a joke.

If we're using Gholas, why not just use Miles Teg. He's faster than Garnett. Like, by alot.

My better idea

PG-The Flash
SG-Daredevile
SF-Spider man
Pf-Super man
C -Hulk

Backups:

Batman
Robin
Wolverine
Aquaman
Green lantern
Captain America
Punisher

And JVG too well just hire proffessor X and the rest of the x-men as assistant

And just think with that lineup we should never have an injury and if god forbid we do one of the assistant X-men could fill in. just think what Storm could do to confuse the opposition.

wait - we could have little kids dressed as ten-gallon-hat-wearing cowboys, chaps and all, as the assistant coaches.. and whenever the opponent starts to head for a bucket, they can jump up and yell 'Bang! You're dead!' and the opponent would have to fall over and play dead, thus cleverly allowing our team to roll to glory.

Cuz, that's how things work in crazy land.

Right BigMo?

You need to revise the lineup a bit:

PG - The Flash ( quick as a wink..wait I have heard that before..)
SG - Hawkeye ( Never miss a shot )
SF - Spider man ( He can do it all )
Pf - Hulk ( Try to out-muscle him )
C - Mr. Fantastic ( stretch to block every shot and get every rebound)

:D

While the trade is a little far fetched it does have its merits and it is a legal trade because of Denvers cap space. I like the trade if we keep Cato and Cat.

So why exactly would we want to trade these valuable players???

By your own admission, trading the players, as you have described them, for only a 2nd round pick would be the most asinine move in NBA history.

What happens if Payton, O'Neal and Odom decided to sign somewhere else??? Our franchise would be ruined for years to come.

Worst. Trade. Thread. Ever.
