somebody is still going to say "don't panic, we're still the best team not making the playoffs, ..... they're young give them one more year to develop the chemistry, ..... Mobley has developed some D wait 'till Yao Ming gain 20 lb of musle and we'd be 4th~6th seed in the West, ..... Rudy wasn't there for the last few games, we'd be OK when he's back, ..... we love the Rockets so don't change! .....blah, blah, ..... blah, .....

the 4th year I tring to tell these "fans" this team(with Mobley the starting shooting+ISO) is not going anywhere. not sure how long for them to realize this. though it's disappointed to see the Rockets had another season wasted, I'm glad they didn't make the playoffs(they won't win it anyway.) I hope it makes Les to re-evaluate his team and finally make some siganificant changes.

here's my wish list for this off-season:

1.) Mobley be traded. He's still selfish and stupid on the court, as always, move him would benefit Steve and Yao's game (actully everyone's game)

2.) Re-sign Posey and move him to the 2 spot. all the championship teams for the last decade have big defensive 2 guards: Kobe(Lakers), Mario(Rockets, Spurs), MJ(Bulls), Harper(Bulls, Lakers). also the Kings wasn't a serious contender untill they brough in Christie a few years ago.

3.) Bring in more Vet./leadership. Mark Jackson? Malone? Kukoc?

4.) Show some interest in Brand and at least make an offer to see what turns out.

5.) No more 3 guard line-up(Moochie+Steve+Mobley) give the back up shooting to Hawkins not Moochie/Steve.

firstable, we talk to Brand tell him how bad we want him to join this team. by joining this team he gets: 1.) close to Max contract with no income tax 2.)a chance at the title(Steve+Brand+Yao Ming=contender) 3.) an all-star point guard 4.) player's coach(Rudy most likely will return)

secondly, we talk to the Clippers for a sing-n-trade for Brand. Brand is not going back anyway so they might want get something in return: Eddie Griffin+Rice's expiring contract? or Griffin+Mobely+Moochie?(preferred)

we then trade Taylor for Tony Kukoc. Kukoc is getting old but he still got game- an excellent ball handler, passer, scorer, and most importantly with tons of experience. unlike Mobley, Kukoc play to help a team win not to help himself become an "all-star" the Bucks will like to add Taylor's inside game(offense).

and a last thing to do is find some backcourt leadership. an ideal pick is sign free agent Mark Jackson. I know he's old but all he needs to do is back Steve up for maybe 8 min. a game and mostly work off-court with Steve on his game.

if we follow these four steps we got a championship team like this:

Yao Ming, Cato
E. Brand, Morris/2nd Rd pick
T. Kukoc, Rice, Nacbar
J. Posey, Hawkins
Francis, Jackson

c'mon Les, we've been waited long enough!

The more I think about it the more the idea of bringing Possey to the back court sounds atracting.
But I don't think neither that nor bringing Brand(even making an offer) will ever happen unless we get a new coach. Now don't get me wrong,I love RudyT,but I think the time has come for him.
I'm not taking a personal hit at him,it's just we need a different way of thinking for this team.A coach can't be successfull with a team if he can't change his plays once every 10 years!
Just my 2 cent(is that how u say it?)

so we'll be better off at two guard with a guy who plays D equivalent to mobley's (perimeter D is worse, overall D is equal) and who shoots horribly?

and i still don't get the whole mobley is selfish angle anymore. at least half his shots these days are from getting kickouts for wide open 3's. should he not take those. about 35% of the others are from getting a pick from a big man and using it to get to about 15-17 feet away out front and hitting an open J. seems perfectly fine to me, an open jumper off a pick. and then like once or twice a game, God forbid, we even let him iso. a guy with the quickest first step this side of allen iverson. wouldn't wanna let him get any one on one chances. and aren't his shots well off the pace from last year and probably even more off the pace if you look at the last half of the season?

I love the idea of trading Mo T for Kukoc. That would be great for this team.

How would that help our team? We already got Posey/Boki/Rice. Kukoc does just about the same thing as Ricem except maybe get a few more boards. MoT has been valuable down the stretch in many games. This trade would screw our team.

The scary thing is that every team besides the Rockets will improve their team in the offseason. How? The draft pick. They will get the addition of young talent. Too bad the Rockets will not.

No, the most scary thing is waking up to discover that your penis is missing.

All of a sudden, that basketball stuff dwouldn't seem to matter any more.

francis 4 prez,
actually you don't know anything about basketball right? just wondering how could somebody like you have 1796 posts on this basketball board. start a new tread that argues Mobley is a better defender than Posey and you'll see how stupid it is.

oh yeah just for you to know, a "horrible shooter" like Posey shoots better than your unselfish man-Mobley since he've been traded to the Rockets: Posey .437% / Mobley .433%

that's another reason I believe you don't know basketball. Mobely is selfish NOT because he took those open shots but,
1.) not playing for the team to win. he refuse to be a role player and put himself above the team. it's so obvious that our offense runs much better through Yao and Steve but Mobley still wanna to be the man. he's an above avg. player who wanna to be an all-star.
2.) he has no trust/respect for his teamates. he looked painfully when he has to pass the ball to his teamates other than Steve (usually when he can't even force a bad shot or at the last second)

there's no problem for him to shoot those kickout open 3s or open Js. actaully that's what most of the fans want him to do and that's one thing he can do the best. unfortunately he believes he could do much more than that.

EddieWasSnubbed,
firstable you didn't read my post carefully. that's "IF" we trade for Brand and move Posey to the 2 spot. why pay $8 million to Taylor for maybe 8 min. a game behind Brand and tons of $ and time for drug? what Kukoc does better than Rice other than rebounding?
- Better ball handling
- Better passing skills (3.6asi in 27min)
- Better court vision
- Better defense (1.37stl/0.47blk in 27min)
- More rings
- More heart
- More playoff games
- Less injury
- Less off-court trouble
- Cheaper
- Taller
- Younger

btw, you really know Kukoc's game?

droxford, I can't argue with you about that... maybe you're right.
