What do you think about this. I am pretty sure it was taped at an earlier date. In it he praises the 51st division, for their acts of bravery. Uhh the 51st surrendered last week.

Yeah I just saw parts of it a littl ewhile ago and read some of the recap from it. They said he gave no specifics of the war and it looked like it had actually been edited (in the opinions of the article I read "possibly to edit out portions that were far more off base" than the praise for the 51st.)

I have not seen this report, but the odds of him picking out the 51st division seem pretty slim. They are the only division that surrerdered. So it makes me think that he's actually alive and that he's trying to cover up their surrender. But again, I have not seen anything. What else is way off?

I'm not sure. The way the article read was that the film had been edited by Iraqi TV or the government. They said there were cut aways from the speech that made it look like they had taken things out. In the opinion of the article writer(I'll see if I can find the article I was reading) it could have been edited to remove things that were more off base than the 51st division comments.
Here it is:

This is not Sadamm and neither was the other guy...
My opinion is that he pre-recorded everything, especially his speeches and he has his "Doubles" reading aloud...
We should be getting his azz real soon (Dead or Alive...)

The CIA , FBI...etc, said that it was Sadam in the first video with the huge glasses. The did voice recognition, movement in the face, etc.
He didnt look hurt at all in the speech this morning. I surely hope that is an older video.

Do you all remember that Saturday Night Live skit where "Ted Kopple" is going on vacation so he prepares a ton a "headlines" just in case anything happens while he's gone. I.e. "This just in, President Gerald Ford dies!" They went through a slew of possible headlines really reaching for it.
Maybe Saddam did that as well? In case I die, here are a bunch of pre-recorded speaches to use mentioning random cites, units, etc...

Chase,
The one argument against your idea is that Saddam is such an egomaniac, the idea of his own death is probably inconceiveable to him.

I could see him making a bunch of tapes, but I also agree with the fact that the guy is such and egomaniac his own death is inconceivable. But I lean a bit towards the fact that Saddam is thinking if some miracle happens and he dies, he wants the regime to live on "in his memory". Basically he wants to control Iraq dead or alive so I can see him making tapes so that he is running Iraq even if he is dead.
