Given the opportunity, would you trade Yao for James?

Great centers come along once a decade... great guards come along once every couple years....

Ming has the potential to be a superstar center, and those don't come around often.

Lebron James.. Ok, looking him up. He's that high school senior.

ack! no! Even if James is the second coming of Jordan, it will be 3-4 years before he gets to his NBA game. Ming has game now, and he's likely to be a top 5-10 player in the NBA, and more so, a top 5-10 NBA player who is a center.

LOL, I saw "sonic" in the name and figured you wanted to unload Jerome James on us.

And looking at the Lakers record this year, isn't the answer obvious?

I would rather have yao. A 7-6 player with skillz doesn't come along that often

First, no way I'd make the trade.

Second, everyone whose seen him says LeBron has NBA game right now. He will be, apparantly, one of the most NBA ready players to ever come out of high school. Myth or reality, who knows. But regardless, I'm sure he'll be able to help Memphis or Denver or whoever.

Maybe if James were 7 ft 6, rather than 6 ft 7.

James is one heck of a talent, but from all we've learned about Yao Ming's personality in addition to his play, there is no way I'd trade him for LeBron. LeBron has the game unquestionably, but I can't say I'm too pleased with the personality of him or his family, especially after reading that article about his broken-rim dunk. I'm pleased to have a great player with such class rather than a great player with none.

At the start of the season I probably would've said yes. Now there is no way that I would want us to trade Yao. He is going to be a superstar, has already shown that he can play in the leauge. James could end up being a bust.

James will be a bad ass as soon as he steps on an NBA court. The kid is going to be a superstar in 3 years. But, we have our superstar guard. Our center will soon join him in the superstar ranks.

Can't agree more about the mentality part. To have a complete turn around in 10 games under the tremendous pressure from EVERYWHERE is no simple that just pile up good stats.

i agree james is one hell of a player but hes not YAO. how many good centers are left in the nba 4 or 5 if even that. and only 3 of them deserve allstar status(mutumbo, shaq, wallace) if yao however keeps playing liek this that definatly includes him as well. but there are plenty of 2 guards that can play in this leauge u cant say that about the 5 spot no more. the ewings, olajuwons, and robinsons, are out the door. yao i think is the next BIG thing. steve needs to be our shooting guard and mobley needs to be traded for the likes of eric snow or jamal tinsley.

    Yeah, <a href="http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45732">here's the thread on it</a>.

I hadn't really read the whole article itself, and I have to say I'm actually kindof impressed with LeBron. He seems like he's still got his head with everyone going crazy around him. Perhaps LeBron is more classy than I thought. However, I am still extremely pleased with Yao Ming not only as a basketball player, but as a person as well. Can't say that about a lot of NBA players.
