To all Rudy bashers: Leave him alone, the guy is a brilliant coach, he's just stung by the stupid personnel moves of the last few years.

There is not point repeating it over and over: The Cato, MoT, Moochie and Rice contracts were terrible, passing on Rashard for Mirsad Turkan...

It seems that we can add more now:

Passing on Rashard again to keep Griffin.
    Drafting Nachbar.
Letting Oscar go (16 pts tonight against Utah).
I only hope Ming doesn't turn into a much bigger project than we were initially told. He looks waaaaay slow and uncomfortable so far.

BTW, even though Moochie's contract is not as big as MoT and Cato's, I think this was the biggest mistake of all. The guy is terrrrrrible. I bet we were -20 tonite when he was in the game.

    What are you talking about?

I would go to war with this healthy team anyday:

    Francis
    Mobley
    Rice
    Griffin
    Thomas
    Taylor
    Cato
    Moochie

Ming = by the 3rd game he is already looking more comfortable
Nachbar = you are an incredible judge of talent if you can declare him a waste of a pick after 3 games and limited playing time.

Hawkins = looking like he will be a strong role player.

    10 players deep.

The only thing you are right about is that people should back off Rudy.

Personally I think Rudy T is one of the best coaches in the last 15 years, in the NBA. I find it ridiculous when polls don't even rank him in the top 10 today.

Rudy T made all of those personell decisions in tandem with CD. I think you mention to many to cover on one thread,,,,,So i will give my take only on Moochie...Rudy has been a master at getting guys like Moochie to be role players on his teams,,In this csae there are tons of good back-up point guards around,,..what Rudy always looks for is the guy who comes through in the 4th quarter when the chips are down,,seems to be where Moochie excells.....

Torres might have scored 16 points tonight; it remains to be seen if he'll do that everynight. We already have enough scorers anyway at the guard positions. We need people who can stop other people from scoring, and if Hawkins can keep the Carter's of the NBA down, he's well worth it.

I liked Oscar. But I agree that we need defense and hussle more than offense.

It's 3 games into the season.
    Ming and Nachbar are rookies.
Oscar, for the most part, sucked as a Rocket.
First of all, noone really knows how legit the Griffin-Lewis deal was. Personally, I don't see how it could have even worked financially with all the money Lewis wanted.
Second, it's only Griffin's second year and it's only three games into the season.
Third, Eddie had a better season his first year, than Lewis had in either of his first two seasons.

    So, in conclusion...

EG played a lot better last night. He was 3-6 inside the 3pt and 4-4 from the line. 9 boards and 2 blocks. He'll be just fine...

How were we going to get Lewis for 5-6 million less a year than what he signed for. And why would we do that anyway?

Yao ming looked good last night. He is progressing well for being here only 2 weeks. 15 days ago people were wondering if he was even coming...
