VesceySucks who do you work for? I'm guessing not Fleer. Fleer is kind of sorry right now. UD is obviously the best, but Topps is not far behind.

I noticed your profile says that you only work with football cards. Wouldn't it be more fun to be in basketball?

Man, you guys are terrible detectives. If you really wanted to know, you could easily find out. Besides, who's to say I don't work for Fleer? I have now drawn sufficient attention to them. Could that have been my game all along? A form of reverse psychology?

Homer: "What if he was right here?"
Carl: "Are you him? Are you Mr. X? You're him, right?"
Homer: "No! ... Or am I?"

I was hired to do football. Sure, I'd love to do basketball, but that position is filled. Besides, football is more exciting and prestigious than basketball (but behind baseball, of course...).

Are baseball cards still the most popular? They probably are, but I always thought basketball would get ahead due its international appeal. All the collecters I know (and there arent many) collect basketball. Some collect baseball, but I dont know anyone that collects football. Is football really that popular?

From my experience at the ballcard shop where I work, basketball lags far behind baseball and football cards in sales/popularity. Heck,we sell as much Nascar + golf product as basketball!!!

Dang thats very surprising. I always thought kids liked basketball much more. I mean players like Iverson, Kobe, Steve, Carter, etc. are much more popular then Randy Moss, McNabb or Bonds, etc. Then again, kids arent the only ones that collect.

Baseball and football far outpace basketball, hockey, etc. in sales. Although sales of all cards are down everywhere, the top 3 is still:

1) Baseball (with a fairly large margin over #2)
2) Football
3) Basketball

There is a much larger volume of football cards out there than basketball cards. My company puts out 15-16 different football releases, compared to around 6-7 for basketball. The demand is just not there for basketball. I imagine this site would be skewed more towards basketball collecting because, hey, this is a basketball site.

Back to the topic at hand: I did happen to open up a box of Fleer Throwback (did I work on it, or was it a competitor's product??), and I was surprised at the amount of inserts I got. I ended up with 2 autograph cards and 4 relic cards. Pretty good haul well above the intended odds indicated on the pack.

My personal favorite cards are SP and patchworks.

I got a gretzky patch/auto the other day and the card was like 1 inche thick. I have nothing to put it in. That's just ridiculous.

Try these holders. They are easily the best holders available. They are perfect to protect the corners of an expensive card. I bought one of these from a card show a couple of months back and have been looking for them ever since. I just bought it from ebay today. I've got an Eddie Griffin Ulitmae Collection Autograph Jersey Patch 1/25 (its the thickest card I have ever seen) in one of these holders and it fits perfectly.

I think these are the same ones I have, but am not a 100 percent sure.

Just out of curiosity, which Rocket cards do you have? Maybe we can trade or something.
