When hoopgod made that thread bout Empire Records, he didnt think it was worth the "cult film" label his friends favored. I was thinkin what movies yall thought falls under that catagory.

The ones that come to mind are:
    Office Space
    Ferris Bullar's Day Off
    Better off Dead
    Dazed and Confused

My pick? I say Office Space. Its the tech guy in me. Hell, I kinda live his life while working for EV1. :D

Omg I couldn't stand watching Strange brew. My friend said it was the best movie ever, but the problem was that the plot made no sense at all.

    BLADE RUNNER!

    (opening crawl)
Early in the 21st Century, THE TYRELL
    CORPORATION advanced Robot evolution
into the NEXUS phase -- a being virtually
identical to a human -- known as a replicant.
The NEXUS 6 Replicants were superior
in strength and agility, and at least equal
in intelligence, to the genetic engineers
    who created them.
    Replicants were used Off-world as
slave labor, in the hazardous exploration and
    colonization of other planets.
After a bloody mutiny by a NEXUS 6
combat team in an Off-world colony,
    Replicants were declared illegal
on earth -- under penalty of death.
Special police squads -- BLADE RUNNER
UNITS -- had orders to shoot to kill, upon
    detection, any trespassing Replicants.

    This was not called execution.
    It was called retirement.

    EVIL DEAD 2!!!!!

Any movie where someone is that psyched to catch and cut off his own possessed hand is absolutely a classic.

Help me out here people, on a previous thread about this same subject ( I think )

Someone mentioned a movie about a couple of guys and a girl
( one of the guys girlfriend I think )

    Maybe the guys owned/worked at a comic/book store ?

Anyway, there was a scene where the boyfriend and girlfriend talk about past sexual partners,

and she had a lot more ( but oral only )

I heard this was a funny movie and I really want to rent it .

    ( anyone ?????????? )

P.S. could be a foreign film.

I have to throw in a new one.

    THIS IS SPINAL TAP.

That's my favorite movie "cult" status or otherwise.

There's a lot of other great movies already on the list. This is a good topic.

Samarai Jack...I don't know what thread you're talking about, but the movie has to be Clerks....and yes, you do want to rent it. Actually, you want to buy it.

What's a "cult" movie? Is it a movie that's not mainstream?

    If so, my favorites are:

    Blue Velvet
    Naked Lunch
    Eraserhead
    Breaking the Waves
