With Steve's complaining, and apparent "inability" to play with a basketball player like Ming, why don't the Rockets do this...

Draft Ming with the #1

then... trade Stevie Franchise to Chicago for the #2 and pick up Jay Williams...

Being a Francis fan, I wish he could just resolve this crap with being against Ming, and try to play with Yao. BUT although I am a Francis fan, I am a Rockets fan first! I want what's best for the Rox, and Steve comments, regardless of if you are pro-Yao or not are aren't really team oriented...

Now I don't know if Steve for #2 is a good straight up deal, maybe one side could sweeten the deal a little...

Let me know what you guys think

Welcome aboard. Some other members have discussed this, but in general I don't think we see it happening.

It's a nice thought, but Jay Williams never even worked out for us, and I doubt if he'd be happy here. I posted this trade in another thread, and I think it's a viable option for all parties. Thanks to MManal for helping me come up with this...

Houston trades: Francis, KT, 15
Cleveland trades: Miller, 6
Washington trades: Brown, 11

Houston gets: Miller, 6
Cleveland gets: Brown, KT, 11, 15
Washington gets: Francis

Why Houston does it: obvious. We get a more efficient and team oriented point guard in Andre Miller, and the chance to pick up a Caron Butler or Drew Gooden at pick 6.

Why Cleveland does it: Miller won't resign, and they don't want to give him the max. Brown gives them a young forward locked into his contract for three to four more years, and who won't contribute immediately, thus enabling them to make a run after Lebron James. John Lucas said he wanted some immediate help, and was open to trading down, and that's where KT, pick 11, and pick 15 come into play. They could pick up some good guards such as Dajuan Wagner and Jeri Welsch at those picks, and have a good young power forward ready to start.

Why Washington does it: I've heard that they aren't happy with Brown's work ethic, and Francis is the superstar point guard they lack. Because it's DC, it's pretty certain that Steve would resign.

Cat-One problem would be that Cleveland would be left with Bimbo Coles at PG-you could work around that in a couple ways: send Moochie to Cleveland and Whitney or Lue to Houston, or send Whitney or Lue to Cleveland. But, then Cleveland would have to send some salary back-I'm sure they want to get out of Wes Person or Lamond Murray's contract.

Cleveland would be rock solid up front- Diop, Kwame, KT, Mihm, and Ziggy with Hill as a veteran, plus Jumaine Jones and Ricky Davis on the wings and Murray/Person, and two more top 15 picks, putting them in perfect positioning for Lebron James next year.

I was thinking that they would draft either Wagner or Welsch with one or both of their picks, and run them at the point. They may not be true point guards or experienced, but it's not like they want to win anyway. I doubt the Wizards would mind sending one of their PG's if they got Francis...

Jason Williams couldn't hold Steve's jock. Now Cat's trade wouldn't be bad at all, but let's wait...too much drama...let's see how things pan out...Steve is the franchise, let's not give up on him yet. I see how you all can be angry with him, but it's amazing how fast you can dump one of the most popular and the best players we have over one line...

I agree, Baron Davis or Andre Miller would be good for Francis. Somebody should do a poll on this. I don't know how.

Too bad all of those trades are impossible because there is no way Steve re-signs with with Cleveland or New Orleans. Also, why would Chicago trade J Will when there's a chance he might be better? Why would Houston trade Francis for J Will when we already have 2 young players to develope and roll the dice with the chance J Will won't be as good as Steve? I think we should all hope things work out because if Steve leaves, we will take big steps backwards instead of marching towards the playoffs.

I was thinking that too Oski2005. Maybe the deal could be a threeway trade.
