and all i can say is that it is about time that sac got a taste of their own medicine. game two i thought was clearly called in sacs favor. clearly. at the end of three, the lakers had sac beaten in EVERY statistical category, and the only way sac was still in the game was the fact that they had taken 21 extra free throws. games three and four i thought were clean (even including that walker three, which was too close to call realtime), sac clearly outplayed the lakers in game three, and the first half of game four. game five was a travesty in favor of sac, shaq was dominating and he only got 1 ft as he fouled out? sure. it wasn't like he was playing a finesse game either, nine of his shots were dunks. game six clearly favored the lakers, but like i said, it's a dose of their own medicine for sac.

You can say that about one game, but what about many throughout the rest of the season? How about the non-call on Walker's 3 that could've caused this series to have ended after 5 games? Too many what if's, but last night's game was horrible.

Okay, okay if Im going to be consistent and honest about this topic I should give it both LA and Sacramento even though I would like to see Shaq and Kobe's domes on a stick. The inconsistencies though by the refs are costing these teams games. Even though this really is nothing new as it comes to NBA playoff basketball. But I believe that playoff basketball is a different animal and it should be officiated as so. Solving the problem is going to be tough though. Unless the NBA makes it mandatory for the refs to take Karate classes. I see the instant replay being considered for next season. Other than that I think the refs just need to grow a pair.

I for one am very happy that the Kangs lost. I bet Vloppy Divac and CWebb are steamed! :D Anyone's game now. Get ready for lots of vlopping in Game 7. I think this series has been great!

As for the Finals, I think the Nets can win it all. That Jason kid (pun intended) is just amazing. They aren't *that* talented, but he makes everyone so much better. Wish we had him.

Just my opinion, but this has been the worst officiated series I've ever seen.......on both sides ofcourse.
I know the basetball "analysts" say that officials aren't the final say in the out come of a game, but that sure as hell doesn't apply to this series.

Bottom line is this: when the refs let shaq play like he did in game 6, (no offensive foul calls for obvious dislodging, calling phantom fouls on defenders) then no one can beat the lakers. its funny that now that it is a must win game for the lakers, the refs decide to let shaq do whatever the hell he wants.

refs need someone to be looking over their shoulder, and they need a way to hold refs accountable for their mistakes. never going to happen, but the game would improve god knows how much if they did.

oh please, the refs have pretty much kept shaq from doing that most of the previous games. some of those flops called against shaq were ridiculous, especially in game two. and don't tell me that you haven't see chris webber doing the EXACT SAME THING to robert horry, and vlade doing the same thing to walker. please. webber got called for it once this series, and vlade not at all. shaq played a superb game last night, with beautiful footwork and smart shots, as well as hitting his fts. the calls i thought were ridiculous were about three of pollards on shaq. of course, vlade had three obvious fouls on shaq that weren't called, so go figure.

Rightfully so. If the refs had made the correct calls during Shaq's entire career, he wouldn't have one.

All I got to say is Game 6 was the worst officiating game I have EVER seen.

That sounds like sour grapes for anyone who weighed 380 pounds and couldn't make a turnaround jumper.

This is a game of atheletes, and you're allowed to post up and back down your guy. I know Shaq gets down in dirty sometimes, but for his whole career or that whole game?? It goes both ways you know.

Worst than than 96-97 Rockets-Jazz series. All those illegal picks, and all that flopping. Or how about the 94-95 series with Phoenix when they ejected Drexler for no reason. Officiating in the NBA has been a problem for a long, long, long time. The champions deal with it and make sure its not an issue. In other words, take it out of the official's hand like the Rockets did.

oh, and one more thing for people mysteriously complaining that it's the kings getting screwed by the officiating and not both teams: the kings have been called for one illegal screen this series, and yet i see them moving on just about EVERY screen they set in their screen and roll play. the chris webber lowering his shoulder into derek fisher to get mike bibby free for the game winning shot sticks out rather prominently. lakers got game six as a gift. kings got, imo, games two and five as gifts.

Fisher flopped. Oh, and I love all the Laker fans that complain about this call. Remember the game at the end of March, between the Lakers and Spurs? It was a one point game, with ten seconds left, Spurs ball. Tim Duncan went into the paint, shot a turnaround, and was slapped on the wrist by Shaq (admittedly by Laker fans). There was no call, the Lakers won, and all I heard was how "no blood, no foul" in the last ten seconds. Now, one Fisher flop in game 5 and that tune completely changes. Hmm...

it was a foul, as was bobby jackson's defense on the other end on kobe. i believe jackson even admitted he fouled kobe. i didn't blame the refs for letting that one go though, it was, as you say, the same situation as when tduncan got fouled on his shot. the illegal screens that the kings have been setting all series have not been, though.

Officials make mistakes. There's no reason to believe they are anything but accidental.<p>
Anyone who really believes that the games are rigged by the officials should give up watching basketball. I heard a guy from Chicago on the radio who believed that the Illinois lottery was rigged against black folks like himself. Yet he still bought lottery tickets. Basketball fans who think the fix is in are just about that smart.
