Hidalgo, Berkman, and Biggio have all gone deep so far. That place is such a joke. I think we'd have 3/4 guys hit 50 homers each if we played half our games there. They should bring the fences in about 30 feet and raise them about 50 feet. Then they could catch all the bloopers and all the cheap homers would bounce off the walls.

worse than the HR's is the doubles, I think...the gaps are ridiculous at Coors Field...they're huge!!!

Good work so far by the 'Stros this afternoon. Biggio is only a double away from the cycle and will likely have at least 2-3 more at bats if Jimy doesn't sit him down with such a big lead. I don't imagine he will though since Craig didn't play yesterday. Channel 51 is screwed up on my TV so I can't watch the game now, but I was just watching it in the gym. Is anyone else having trouble with Channel 51 from Time Warner?

Will Ward play in the OF this series? If I remember correctly, the wind normally blows out towards right field, but that may be later in the year only.

That field is why Ill never ever vote for Rocky Player for an all star position.

Perfect example why. Todd Helton. All world, ranked the #1 First baseman in the NL by ESPN, due to his .340 average and 50 or so home runs, 145 or so rbi's. For the last three years, he bats 100 points lower (per year), has 100 less RBIs, and about half the home runs playing in games away from coors field.

As compared to Bagwell, whos home and away numbers are very similar in Enron and away.

As Mad Max says, HRs aren't the problem. The huge gaps, and big field is the problem. The OF's have to play so deep, that they allow a ton of would-be catches to drop in. The big inning consists of doubles and singles, as opposed to HRs. When HRs are hit, you have to "start over" if you want to score again in the same inning.
