If I was starting an NBA team and could have Westbrook or Curry, I'd take Westbrook every day of the week. Laugh all you want, but after this series, I don't see how that's debatable. For starters, Curry is made of glass. Then, you start to realize that Curry may be the best pure shooter of all time, but he is nowhere near the complete player that Westbrook is. His impact has been minimized this series, and he's benefitting from a better built team. His team is basically the completed puzzle Morey was trying to build in Houston. Great shooting and some good defensive role players. As a whole, he's been the second best player on his team this series, and that's sad for a unanimous MVP winning the award for the second straight year.
Of course I write this out and he starts hitting shots. Man, I can't stand that guy. Quit showboating before your shot goes in. You've played terribly the whole series.
I don't know if I'd say either one is a historically great player. Curry is a historically great shooter. Westbrook might be among the historically great rebounders at the PG position. But historically great players? I don't know.
I know. I'm a jinx. This sucks. Though if the Warriors win this game, it's because of their best player they've had this series -and not Curry.
OKC might still win at Oracle's but the series is open and GSW has a slight advantage Curry is just out of rhythm, his team will carry him and he will display flashes of brilliance
Put Curry on any non playoff team in place of their best player, do you think they are making the playoffs? He's not that guy. He's a great fit in a system ,but not a will imposer like lebron, Nash , etc. Great, career defining performance by Klay in game 6. it was Kay that kept them in it and imposed his will on the game. Curry has been shown to be someone who gets his numbers from a system and ineffective on defense. A few steals are not defense. Hardcover fans have earned a newfound respect for Klay , have always acknowledged gsws depth, while understanding with curry - "it is what it is"
Give Curry some credit. It's not just the shooting but he can take it to the rim and cut through multiple defenders while doing it. Just knows how to play the game given the rules.
