http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-magic/os-orlando-magic-news-0211-20160210-story.html I hate the Hawks, they win the trade.
That makes no sense for the magic. They have Payton, what would they need Teague for? Side note, I would kill to get Oladipo. He would make a killer PG next to Harden. He has great defense, size, isane athleticism, good passing and a decent shot. Because Harden is ball dominant, playing Dipo full time at the PG position wouldn't be a problem. The strength of a Dipo/Harden combo would kill teams.
But he's not a PG! Despite coaches playing him there his rookie year and Skiles playing him there a lot more this season than last, he's not a PG.
Can he defend PG's? Because if he can(He can), he's automatically way more of a true PG then Beverley is. The dude has put up 4+ assist every season in the league. Bev has yet to put up one season of 4 APG. Harden is so ball dominant, and such a good passer, that we would be just fine with playing Dipo at PG full time IMO. Unless Harden really changes his game, the Rockets will actually have to have a SG who can defend PG's to pair next to Harden (like Bev). As we see with Lawson, a true PG just doesnt work without the ball in his hands, real PG's need the ball to be effective. So IMO it would be a perfect fit and nothing but a huge advantage for us making a touch mismatch for a lot of teams at the 1. Dipo can drive, great fast break player he had a decent catch and shoot, when asked to get can pass and he's a very good defender.
Surely we can get in on this and send Howard for Horford and Oladipo (Teague to Magic)?? Would make the rest of the season fun at least...
Im not surprised by anything short sighted skiles may do. But ig wont worl for either team. Shroeder and Dipo will be a very bad fit and so will Payton and Teague. But Teague would work with Fournier with Payton off the bench ( which seems will be his role from now on with Skiles).
no he doesn't. A player who hasn't developed much, is extremely ball dominant incosistent can't get all the time to the line isn't an elite defender and when he got the most playing time and usage his team went into a downward spiral of winning only a single game in a whole month is not worth two teagues. Especially when said player is going to ASK for 25 per extension this year.
lmao. Yeah right. Almost aged 24 and we see his development. (very little). Oh the neverending hype. Why people judge without watching a player first for many games?
Yeah, I thought he would be 20ppg this season. Dunno what happened, seems like he fell off the cliff or something. Probably his skill set would have seen him best at the 3 spot - if only he were 3 inches taller...
It is dissapointing yeah. The problem with Oladipo is in a way like Harden is hard to find a backcourt partner for him because he needs a 3+D pg who can play off the ball and be low usage. These guys are hard to get. But in contrast to Harden Oladipo is not good enough to build the roster around him. That's why his best spot right now and probably in the future unless he can a) be a good shooter b) get consistently to the line , is off the bench as a super 6th man. Ofc Orlando has many more other problems with their roster as well. They resemble a lot my team the Bucks. Bad defensive c = Vucevic/Monroe PG who can't shoot at all but are good defenders = Payton /MCW These two areas are major concernes to roster construction. Because pfs who are great shotblocker and can shoot are very very rare, and to accomodate a pg who can't shoot at all every other player or at least 3/4 apart from the C must be great shooters. That's why both teams will break up and reconstruct.
Oladipo turns it over too much. But he's still young and playing off the ball next to Harden should help lower his turnovers. If we can't get Smart or Rubio I'm all in on acquiring Oladipo and yes, I'd give up Capela (but not DMo) for him.
