The problem with 2 on 2 is that great NBA players are just going to score almost every time no matter the defender, so the edges are pretty marginal. Just run a pick and roll and get the mismatch on a switch, or get a lob since there's zero help defense. With that said, its still a fun hypothetical and would lean Dream-Clyde, but could see arguments for Yao-Mac

Yeah without a doubt Drexler and Olajuwon.

Everybody always discusses guard/center combos and I understand why, but I've been trying to think of the best 2 forwards the Rockets ever had on the roster at the same time.

It might actually be Tmac and Scolandry lol. Horry and Thorpe were great but there wasn't really a "star" there. Elvin Hayes and Robert Reid are in the discussion.

Don't sleep on Yao/Tmac. Dream's quickness and ability to face up would be a nightmare for Yao but if you don't think Yao's size would give Dream all kinds of problems then you don't know basketball. Yao was automatic with single coverage within 10-12 feet of the rim. These two would battle to a stand still offensively.

Prime McGrady vs Prime Glide is a wash. Actually, Tmac was probably the better individual offensive player.

I give Dream/Drexler the win but barely and only because Dream was versatile enough to leave Yao to disrupt and help on McGrady and still recover before Yao got an open look at the rim.

DMo and Harden. 2 on 2 is same as 1 on 1. 3 point shot counts as 2 points. DMo and harden would shoot 3s (2s) and win.

everyone will say hakeem because he was the best player we ever had...

but yao in a 2 on 2? unstoppable. hakeem would give him fits in a full court 5 on 5 where you can front the post, bring a double team, outrun him on the break...

but half court 2 on 2 you can't do any of that. its just yao backing down until he scores.

    I know its a guard/center combo.

But come on, Dream and Sampson will destroy any match up.

    Whichever team Dream is on.

Can't Dream just front Yao and prevent him from catching the ball?
