2 birds, one thread. Poll coming up... 1. I like both deals. 2. I only like Beverley's deal. 3. I only like Brewer's deal. 4. I dislike both deals.
I like them because I think both players will play up to their contracts. We should be getting Beverley's prime years and tail end of Brewer's best years. If Brewer can develop a better corner 3 in the offseason he can easily be a steal. If nothing else, give Morey credit for not keeping dead money. And both contracts are easily tradeable should Durant decide he wants our max next year. So really there's no downside in anyway.
definitely. bev is only 3 years in the league. he sitll has potential to improve. imagine he gets a consistent shot and a decent pasing game! not far fetched. he can only get better. brewer's already established so 8m per is right where he's at. and with the new cap, these are gonna be, again, MOREYBALL BARGAINS!
Bev: 10/10. The contract is reported to be front loaded, so it decreases over time while the cap heavily spikes. The last year is non-guaranteed. Even as a backup, this deal is excellent! Brewer: 8/10. Just a solid contract considering what others have gotten.
I only can say this after I have a one on one with the legend Morey himself! (Prob won't happen) Brewer I love and have no problem with paying him good money for three years. Beverly... Well it's a little different story, high for a guy that can't really create. I love his defense. If Morey didn't think he could get a big free agent or trade for Lawson without asking for too much then I'm ok with this. In Morey I trust I still think a trade for a pg may still come... #notallullfananymore
The thing i like about both of these deals is that in 12 months time we will have several nice bite size contracts to do S&T with KD or the likes. It opens a lot of possibilities without begging a third team to facilitate.
I no longer vote in non-public polls, unless Clutch starts them, but I do like both deals. Happy to put that in a post. Like others have said, the contracts will look like bargains next year, assuming luck with the "i" word. Now we need to find a starting point. (I can dream of Bev coming off the bench, can't I?)
