    don't click.

Following a sound drubbing in the Western Conference finals at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, Dwight Howard chose to remain positive.

Despite a truly unremarkable five games in which he averaged 14 points, Howard insisted that he would remain determined. He also insisted that he was a champion.

“It’s tough, but I won’t stop fighting,” Howard told CBS Sports. “I’m going to continue to push myself to the limit and remember that, no matter how the season ends, I’m still a champion. And I won’t let anyone tell me anything different.”

Here’s the problem with that statement. There have been many players who have won NBA championships since 1947. Those players are champions. Dwight Howard has never won an NBA championship. Dwight Howard is not a champion. Dwight Howard is almost a champion.

He wants to be a champion. He has the talent and ability and desire to be a champion. But he isn’t a champion. Because he lost.

Dwight Howard probably believes he’s a doctor too. If Dwight Howard says he’s a doctor, don’t believe him. He isn’t a doctor.

What a pointless article, I really don't understand the national medias hatred for dwight. The guy knows we are close and he shows some optimism, they must want him to say hes a loser and that he sucks.

So now scrawny media members who were picked last at recess can look at a professional athlete and dictate whether or not they're a champion?

Dwight won a gold medal, didn't he? If Dwight thinks he's a champion, all the power to him, he's lived a very successful life so far and he isn't even 30 yet.

Did you see that Andre Iguadala flop when he pretended to have a dislocated shoulder, yet he willingly used the very same hand to soften his voluntary fall to the ground. If you really have that much pain in your shoulder as Iguadala wanted us to believe he had, YOU WOULD NEVER put that hand on the ground with full your weight willingly. And no surprise he came back right away to the game like there nothing happened. And there really was nothing other than a simple foul on Dwight, but Iguadala sold it with his fake tears and made refs to go look at it. Refs did good job not upgrading the foul. GSW is as dirty as any other team in the league.

USA Today says they're relevant to anything, even though they clearly aren't (and never have been).

Breaking: Dwight is dominant in the playoffs. Internet sports fans think he's lame because he has an overly positive perspective.

He's not, he might have played hard but he needs to work on his mental game, his post up moves, his commitment to pick and roll and avoid the silly stuff.

Is there a more hated NBA player right now than Dwight?

    No one likes Goliath!

Really incredible how LOVED Dwight was many years ago (slam dunk championship era). And now he is a punching bag.

Dwight has flaws, but do do many athletes. Amazing how the negative narrative has stuck. And I sincerely thing that even if Dwight won a championship they STILL would drive the "soft / bad guy" narrative.
