Yep, totally agree. While this is a disappointing end, the Rockets have taken huge steps towards where they want to be. As I said in the game thread, a few roster tweaks, some luck with injuries and we'll be right there again next year. In the meantime, go Cavs. Hopefully they can do what we couldn't and wipe the smug off the Warriors' faces.
Exceeded all expectations. Super pleased. Too bad the Warriors were historically good this year... otherwise the Rockets might have made the Finals.
Absolutely! Amazing season from the Rockets, from Harden and the coaches. Played hard the whole season, won a lot games, so much fun to watch. Awesome playoff run, loved every minute of it. Really excited about this offseason, a couple of good moves and we should be right there with the Warriors next season. Lets go rockets!
great season with everything they had to deal with this year in injuries. battled and went to the western finals. If we can somehow just stay healthy next year and bring in a playmaker pg that can hit 3's. I think our team was just too exhausted, went to game 7 in 2nd series and harden had too much to carry on his back. He played in the Olympics and then had to carry this team and played 81 games and then continue it in the playoffs. 1 man can do so much for a team. We should keep this team and just add another playmaker and a shooter.
Great season, they got to the western conference finals without two starters. They played the regular season and the playoffs with heart.

I came to start the exact same thread. Quality thread and post tinman. I for one am extremely happy of the Rockets. I stood and clapped and cheered as they ran the clock out. While it sucks Harden had a very bad game, to me that is ok. He has plenty of great games. Im sure it will add fire and desire in the off-season to get even better. Dwight played great all post season. We really have something to build on. Maybe an upgrade here or there if possible, add some shooting and this team can easily be the Warriors of next season. Congrats on a superb season Rockets.
let's get healthy next season with a healthy roster we can compete with anyone, great season for sure but still lots of room to improve
Great year! Beyond the success they had, I just like the team more for the grit and heart they showed playing through the injuries, nutting up down the stretch, ending the Mavericks, coming back from the dead against the Clippers and hanging with a better team in the Western Conference Finals. I hope they learn from the disappointment and take the step. Thank you, Houston Rockets.
This will definitely go down as one of the better Rockets teams, and one that was a lot of fun to root for. When I heard DMo was not coming back, I really thought the worst. I feared the Rockets were going to have another 1st round exit. That they were able to make it to the conference finals without two starters is remarkable, and a lot of credit should go to Harden, McHale, Morey and Howard.
