Marshall was just put on probation...any chance Byron Leftwich might come out early??? I wouldn't mind seeing him an a Texans uniform.

He said specifically he was not coming out early. I heard someone on 610 suggest that we get an Oline or lb this year and get Leftwich next year, which sounds like a better idea then getting Carr or one of this year's QBs.

I'm guessing the Texans will go after Peppers then Leftwich next year. I just hope Simms doesn't have some sort of fluke season and the Texans feel pressured into taking him.

Great... 9 months before the season even starts, fans dismiss a good season from Simms as a fluke.

not that I care who will be the starting qb of the Texans, but. . .
if chris simms has a good year next year, it will not be a fluke by any stretch of the imagination.
all the UT/simms haters who have gotten used to harping on the 'Horns' schedule will have to find a new excuse next year.
if simms plays well, it will be against nebraska, k-state, tech and unc [all on the road], plus ou in dallas.
if he puts up numbers anything like this year's, the Texans would be wise to draft him.
why are people talking about leftwich all of the sudden? I've never heard of him before this week's bowl game.
plus, the Texans should be trying to figure out any possible way to acquire Vincent Young. they should draft him NOW.

I'm not a fan, just an objective observer. (Not an Aggie either.) I don't root for any Texas college teams. I'd like to see all 3 locals do well though.

Simms is an overrated bitch, and the top two quarterbacks from this draft are Major and God.
That being said, I think the Texans draft best available talent instead of going after a position like QB for awhile. This year, McKinnie is the best player. Next year, theres no way to predict this far in advance but Im gonna say Willie Green has to be pretty high up there.

the problem is, the texans need EVERYTHING!! All the other teams will try to meet their needs, knowing that some positions are locked up for them. EVERY position is open for the Texans. I would love to see them focus on good, solid linemen on both sides of the ball. I know that's not a flashy use of a draft pick, but I think that would be the right way to go about building a football team. Meat and potatoes.

Except Byron is smarter and taller. He has a more accurate arm also.
