Since Josh is such a polarizing player on a game to game or even quarter to quarter basis, it seemed fair leading up to the second round to make a thread following the ups and downs of this alley oop tossing and 3 point chucking machine, Josh Smith.
Absolutely love him when he's hitting, cause he goes full beast mode, hide behind the pillow when he's not.
The perfect description of the ups-and-downs of Josh Smith on our team, is in my signature; Thanks to Ceonwuka for providing this to me a while back.
I like how is playing - and has accepted his role - and like his 3pt shooting, the guy clearly has come to work on his game and is staying within himself. Hell, Ariza has never been able to play within his strengths, Smith is doing that now, and that was my biggest worry. Glad he is here, well done Morey. DD
He was terrific in the Dallas series. If he continues that level of play, we can legitimately win it all this year. That is a big if, however.
If Josh can play up to a level that continues to match the intensity he will see from Griffin, we have more than a chance. People underrate Smith's defense a lot. Blake isnt going to just bullrush Smith as easily just saying. I look to Josh Smith's weak side defense playing a huge role this series.
I love his on ball defense...against any post player. His scoring comes and goes and when he is on, there few better players in the NBA. We are fortunate to have him...kudos to DM for signing him and big kudos to Coach McHale who has used him better than any NBA coach previously.
I love how Detroit is paying him to win with us. And as far as his 3s go, I find myself holding my breath more for Ariza when he does that 3 fake and steps FORWARD for a freaking 2. Usually misses those, don't have a shooting percentage on those shots specifically.
Would you say he is he our point forward? BTW, here is a video of him passing. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IGD4xLGILzs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
