Eventhough that's a solid 5 hour drive for me, anything is better than watching game 5 in Bmore tonight.
I assume Pittsburgh is not an NBA town much at all. NHL: DET vs TB at the same time And the Pirates are playing an away game at the same time. I'd call and also show up one hour early and order food. Ask the waitress you need audio for the NBA game. Don't even mention who...just say "THE game."
Is this a record. 6 yrs of lurking, then Ian The Great posts to a Viewing Party request in a town like Pittsburgh. Can't beat this. KingCheetah -- beat you to the greenie of the purple people...as always! Iz get two in this thread.
Yet another reason why no one should listen to me with regard to the NHL, esp someone from Pittsburgh.
Maybe it's because he made a typo when imputing his username? Lol, jk. Unless his name is Ian and he wasn't trying to say "I am the great." It's neither here nor there though.
Pittsburgh is SO not a NBA town that if you ever go to a bar and get the bartender to put a NBA game on you are likely to be mercilessly heckled by the regulars who will insist NBA basketball isn't a 'real' sport and spend the whole time dealing with people insisting you defend your interest in pro basketball itself. Or at least that was my experience when I lived there. A lot. And to get a game that was only nationally televised on NBA TV I actually had to drive half an hour out of town to watch at a Dave and Busters of all things. On a small screen with the sound off. One of the best sports towns in the world (the Steeler love there is universal and they have such better fans and so much more invested fans than we do here for any sport) but also possibly the worst NBA town in America.
I used to go there for games too when I lived in Pittsburgh. Saddest watching experience ever. Over and over until I finally moved.
