Interesting read. We should worry about Smith's free agency during free agency though. No guarantee he will come back although this does seem like a great home for him.

Also, some of you may not feel the same way as me, but I do feel a little bad for Rondo. Never wanted him on the team, and I know he's a jerk but he just doesn't seem to fit in anywhere in the league. It makes sense why someone like Kobe would attempt to recruit him though.

For the Rockets, the moves they didn't make – matching Parsons' max offer sheet, pushing harder on a Rondo deal with Boston – turned out to be as important as the moves they did make: signing Smith and trading for Corey Brewer.

We need an update to this to include Brewer and Smith, with Parsons flying away.

I still find it hilarious that Dallas fans thought Smith would be the cancer and ruin team chemistry here...that their locker room was so strong and could deal with the head case that is Josh Smith.

Meanwhile Rondo sulks and glares at his coach. So far it's safe to say that Smith is far from being a cancer.

There are few actual cancerous players in the league to be fair. The only one I can think of is Charlie Villanueva. Word to KG who is the 2nd best power forward of the 2000s.

Do you mean "players who look most like cancer patients"? Maybe then Villanueva applies.

Hopefully JSmith is willing to take a smaller contract at least for this next season before the salary cap increases in 2016. Can't blame him for wanting to chase a big long term contract though, since it could be his last chance

If Smith wants to stay here and get paid, that's probably what'll have to happen. But it sounds like he loves it here and I could see him agreeing to a handshake deal with Morey and Les.

I do think he'll be back. His career has been resurrected and the last thing he wants is to start over somewhere else. Plus, coming off the bench like this could allow him to play for many more years.

Maybe a sweetheart one year deal with a pay bump once the cap increases?

The slim reaper has foot issues. I would be very hesitant to max him out. #Yao

That's not funny. He's got alopecia, which is a disease which blocks hair growth. He certainly deserves a lot of knocks for his attitude and play (although not for Dumars being a stupid enough to shell out a massive contract for him), but lobbing cancer jokes at a guy for a health issue isn't cool.

That's exactly what KG did to Villanueva.
