Let's not forget 2005... this series is FAR from over

Lots of celebrating tonight, as there should be... but damn if I'll ever forget 2005 when we went up 2-0 against Dallas on their home court. Then dropped the next 3 and of course lost game 7 by 40.

This series is far from over. Dirk missed a lot of open shots he usually makes tonight. Ellis will only get better. As for Rondo...
Bummed Parsons might miss the series, but you never know what will happen between now and Friday with his knee.

Carlisle will adjust to that pick and roll. Harden will NEED to find his offense. We can't keep relying on role players to carry us (or maybe we can...). We're gonna get even worse referee treatment in Dallas (expect Dwight to be in constant foul trouble and Harden to get called for offensive fouls with their flops).

We're Houston fans after all. We know not to count the eggs too early... ;)

This series is over. It was over before it started. There is no such thing as a jinx. The Mavericks are completely outmanned. It's over. Probably going to be a sweep.

We win in 2005 had it not been for the crooked refs and Cuban sending in tapes.

That Rockets team was absolutely the better team that series, and arguably one of the best teams in the entire league, it's a shame.

Only series I can think of worse than that reffing wise (I'm obviously biased, there may be more I'm not thinking of) is the Kings/Lakers series because that one directly impacted 2 franchises short (winner of that series guarantees a title that year) and long term future.

Agree. If Cuban manages to get that flux capacitor fixed, he might be able to dig up the 2005 Dirk.

You can't compare 2005 with 2015 ... just stop it.

That 0.9 second shot is not easy to be forgotten for Dwight and Harden, we will see.

i hope so. eventually harden will one day have a good shooting playoff game. i think game 6 last year he shot well. so that would be one out of 8 playoff games where he shot decent.

Man, I almost forgot 07 haha, I mean I knew it was Jazz series but forgot part about being up 2-0... Anyway I feel a lot better this series, but won't feel good until it's fully done. Definitely happy about the wins just want to get passed this series!

I agree, OP. It sounds like the team is thinking the same way, which is great.

It's not a one or 2 man show like it was in 05 OP. McGrady was superhuman and we still squeaked by first 2 games.

    We're beating Dallas with depth.

Couple wins and fans think it's over? I agree with the OP. NEVER FORGET! Game 3 is the real must win game, Rockets were supposed to win at home.

    2005 was a 4-5 seed match up.

I'd be surprised, of course anything can happen. Rockets played pretty bad for most of that game and still won. Harden had a "Average" game (I think his game 1 was MUCH MUCH better) and Ariza shot bad and so many guys shots were off...but Dallas has no way of stopping Dwight other than flopping him out of the game.

If we don't win this series, it would be a monumental collapse.

Yeah. Imagine if Harden actually played to his potential. Game 1 and 2 would have been solid blowouts. 25+ point blowouts.
