Seed #3 will likely play Portland in round 1, Memphis in round 2 and maybe SA or GSW in the WCF.

Seed #2 will likely play Dallas in r1 and the Clips in r2.

We desperatley need San Antonio to get that 5 seed for either of those scenarios. If they can't, we'd be on a collision course with them within the first 2 rounds and I'd very much rather GSW have to deal with them first.

    Seed #2 or #3?

Portland can't drop below the 4th seed, so it's impossible to play them in round 1.

The 3 seed will play either San Antonio or the Clippers in the first round.

LMA will kill us, but Smith, Jones, and Dmo all have 6 fouls right. Make him pay when he posts up inside by good clean hard fouls.

That is unless the Rockets drop to 5th... then they'll play Portland.

Damion Lillard will destroy us. I'm not super confident about the playoffs at all. We turn the ball over too much, we don't have a coach that's big on strategy. We don't play defense like we a capable of doing so or only when we seem to feel like it. Dwight Howard insists on posting up instead setting a pick for the MVP. Our defensive point guard is gone. Harden's shot has been off. Hopefully the Rockets turn it up when the playoffs start.

We will lose either series most likely. I only see us getting past OKC, Dallas, Memphis and Portland.

Maybe the Rockets really should rest Harden, at this point who cares about homecourt we are a great road team, we should probably avoid the Spurs at all costs, lol.

I always want the highest seed possible to give us home court for as long as possible.

A 2 seed against Dallas is super. LAC is tough but we have HCA.

A 3 seed against San Antonio and then if we beat them we have to (probably) play Memphis and Memphis has HCA? Oh hell no.

this could be said for the entire western conference. Congrats on the 1 seed Golden state! You get to play OKC! (probably)

Assuming Memphis and the Rockets both win their first round game, they'd play each other in the second round no matter which of them is the 2nd and 3rd seed.

All playoffs teams in the West are dangerous, including the Rockets. Anybody can beat anybody. It really doesn't matter who we face. HCA is more important than match up for this year, IMO. So #2 is better than #3.

    Playoffs are seeded like this:

    1 vs 8

    4 vs 5

    3 vs 6

    2 vs 7

In the next round, the winner of 1 vs 8 plays the winner of 4 vs 5, and the winner of 3 vs 6 plays the winner of 2 vs 7.

    We need that 2nd seed!!!

We can't play SAS in the 1st and we definitely can't play GSW in the 2nd.

    - Portland will be 4th seed no matter what.
    - If we are 3rd seed, then Memphis held the 2nd seed.
    - If we are 2nd seed, then Memphis will be 3rd seed.

So irrespective of if we're 2nd or 3rd seed, Memphis will be greeting us in the 2nd round if we advance.

If the very likely chance Clippers win out their schedule and end the regular season with a better record than us, then we will be 5th seed facing Portland. Then Golden State would be greeting us in the 2nd round if we advance.

Another likely chance is that Clippers AND Spurs ball out the rest of their schedule. Then we would be 6th seed, and potentially face Grizzlies & Clippers for Round 1 & 2.

Pick your poision, indeed. But we often forget what those other teams think of us. We're no easy road to get through either. This year is so tightly matched. I'd want the 2nd seed playing hopefully the Mavs, with the Grizzlies in the 2nd round.

    1. Portland is going to be the 4 seed. We won't play them in the first round unless we fall to 5.

    2. The 5 and 6 seeds will be LAC and San Antonio. If the Clippers get the 6 seed, then we would most likely play Memphis in the 2nd round no matter whether we are 2 or 3.

We are far better off getting the 2 seed and playing Dallas in the first round.

Agree with the others. Best bet for getting out of Round 1 is with the two seed and Dallas.

Portland is matchup nightmare, and nobody wants to see McHale vs. Popovich.

Portland has no Wes Matthews and a hurt Aldridge.

They aren't nearly as scary as they could have been.
